The Greater Susquehanna Valley YMCA is a membership organization whose mission is to assist everyone in its service area in building a healthy spirit, mind, and body. Rooted historically in Judeo-Christian values, the YMCA welcomes into its fellowship service men and women of all ages, incomes, abilities, races and religious points of view. The programs and services the YMCA offers have five basic goals: promoting good health, building strong families, raising confident kids, being a force for good in our communities and striving to build a better world.

Amanda shared her knowledge of play-based learning and how understanding children’s play helps educators create meaningful learning experiences.

Today, at the Women’s Leadership Symposium, our CEO Bonnie McDowell received the ATHENA Leadership Award. This international honor recognizes leaders who excel in their work, give back to their communities, and help women reach their full leadership potential.

From her nomination. "Bonnie leads with integrity, compassion, and a genuine belief in people. She builds strong partnerships, responds to community needs, and empowers others, especially women, to grow into confident leaders."

Bonnie has mentored her entire executive team. They were proud to celebrate her, along with her family and friends.
