We want people and birds to flock to our parks. That’s the only Flock we want in our parks. 🕊️

County Executive David Crowley and I signed the resolution today to remove Flock cameras from Milwaukee County parks. Our parks should be places where families gather, children play, and neighbors find peace, not places where people have to worry about their movements being tracked.

Public safety and privacy are not opposing goals. We can protect our communities without compromising people’s rights.

I’m proud of my colleagues on the County Board, especially Justin Bielinski - MKE County Supervisor, for listening to residents and taking action. Thank you to County Executive Crowley for signing this resolution and helping us see it through.

Our residents deserve safe, welcoming parks where everyone can enjoy the freedom to simply be.

Today, we honor Indigenous Peoples’ Day and recognize the Native nations and Indigenous communities whose history, culture, and contributions are part of the fabric of Milwaukee County.

Honoring this day means recognizing the truth of our history, respecting Indigenous sovereignty and traditions, and uplifting the voices and leadership of Indigenous people today and every day.

We have a responsibility to carry that recognition forward through meaningful action, respect, and a commitment to a more equitable future.

Investing in justice also means being mindful of the burden on local taxpayers.

At our recent County Board meeting, I introduced and unanimously passed an amendment calling on the State of Wisconsin to provide additional financial support for the Investing in Justice: Courthouse Complex project to help reduce the burden on local taxpayers.

At the same time, our top priorities for additional state funding remain transit, critical safety-net programs, and quality-of-life programs, including our parks system. We must invest in justice while protecting the services our residents depend on.

Thank you to our state senators and representatives for this thoughtful conversation about Milwaukee County services and priorities.

From transit to Birth to Three, strong partnerships are essential for the services our residents rely on every day.

The Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors looks forward to the work ahead.

Milwaukee has a way of making you proud wherever you go.

I felt that strong sense of pride in Washington, D.C., speaking at MMAC’s Milwaukee Night and celebrating the people, businesses, and leaders working to make Southeast Wisconsin a stronger place to live, work, and build a future.

We may have been a thousand miles away, but Milwaukee (b**r and brats included) was very much in the room. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to bring our region’s voice to the table and highlight the work happening back home.

At yesterday’s meeting of the Board, we celebrated Latiné Heritage Month, honoring the history, culture, and contributions of Latiné communities across Milwaukee County.

It was a joy to present Milwaukee County citations to many distinguished members of our Latiné community who have made meaningful contributions to our County and continue to shape our future.

My Puerto Rican heritage is an important part of who I am and the community I serve. I’m proud to have championed legislation formally recognizing Latiné Heritage Month in Milwaukee County and uplifting the stories, history, and contributions of our Latiné communities as an important part of our County’s story.

¡Que viva nuestra comunidad Latiné! ❤️

We took another important step in shaping Milwaukee County’s future with County Executive David Crowley’s Recommended 2027 Budget.

The budget closes a $50 million gap, invests in transit, and shifts funding from Flock cameras to Right to Counsel, all while lowering the property tax rate. I’m grateful to everyone whose thoughtful work helped create this budget, and I look forward to working with my colleagues, County leadership, and our community as we work toward a final budget in November.

A budget reflects our priorities and the kind of community we want to build together. That’s why your voice matters.

Join us for our upcoming 2027 Budget Public Hearing at the Milwaukee Art Museum and share what matters most to you, your family, and your community. I hope to see you there.
