Five years of Sherman Park Harvest Fest! 🎃❤️

It brings me so much joy to see this tradition continue to grow and bring families, neighbors, and friends together in Sherman Park. What started as a community celebration has become something we look forward to year after year, and I’m grateful to have helped host five years of fall fun right here in our community.

Thank you to our incredible partners, vendors, and everyone who came out to celebrate with us. Your time, generosity, and commitment are what make this event special. A special thank you to Milwaukee County Parks, Milwaukee Parks Foundation, Sherman Park Community Association, Mary Ryan Boys & Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee, and Friends Of Sherman Park, for helping make this year’s festival possible!

Sherman Park is special because of the people who show up. Here’s to continuing this tradition for years to come!

Milwaukee is on a winning streak! ⚾🏆✈️

Fresh off a Brewers World Series win, today we celebrated another Milwaukee home run: the grand opening of Bartolotta Restaurant Bar & Ristoro at MKE - Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport!

The space is stylish, inviting, and brings Italy to Milwaukee. The food? OUTSTANDING! 😋

A special thank you to Paul Bartolotta and the entire Bartolotta family, as well as partners and staff, for continuing to invest in Milwaukee and bringing their signature hospitality to our County-owned airport.

What a great way to welcome travelers and showcase the best of our city!

Next time you’re flying through Concourse D (& soon Concourse C), come hungry!

Thank you to everyone who came out to our 2027 budget public hearing and shared your concerns, ideas, and priorities for Milwaukee County. Making time to speak up and be part of this process matters, and I’m grateful for every voice in the room.

Now, we keep moving. The Finance Committee will consider final amendments Friday, October 30, at 9 a.m., and the full County Board is scheduled to vote on the 2027 budget Thursday, November 5, at 9:30 a.m.

I carry your voices with me as we take these next steps. We have important decisions ahead, and I remain committed to a budget that supports our residents, families, and communities.

A budget should reflect the priorities of the people it serves. That’s why I’ve worked with Finance Committee Chair Supervisor Steve F. Taylor and my county board colleagues on a 2027 budget amendment that puts residents and families first.

Our amendment reduces the proposed property tax levy by $695,157 while investing in youth services, eviction prevention, food access, senior meals, and parks aquatics. We’re also preserving access to our parks and lakefront, regardless of income or ZIP code.

What’s next? The Finance Committee considers final amendments Friday, October 30, at 9 a.m., followed by a full County Board vote on the budget Thursday, November 5, at 9:30 a.m.

We will continue working toward a stronger, healthier, and more affordable Milwaukee County for all of us.

Thank you to everyone who joined us last night and took the time to share what matters most to you, your families, and your communities in Milwaukee County, reminding us of what’s at stake and who we serve. These conversations matter, and I want you to know that your voices have been heard.

We still have two important steps before the 2027 budget is finalized:

Friday, October 30, at 9 a.m. - The Finance Committee will consider final amendments and make its recommendation to the full County Board.

Thursday, November 5, at 9:30 a.m. - The full County Board will vote on the budget.

I appreciate everyone who continues to engage in this process. Our responsibility is to listen, take your priorities seriously, and make decisions that support the people and communities who call Milwaukee County home.
