DPW Milwaukee Responsible for the design, maintenance, and operation of Milwaukee’s public infrastructure.

We contribute to the quality of life and economic development of Milwaukee in many ways. We provide the cleanest, safest water in the country; we foster the growth and beauty of our urban forest and boulevards to the envy of others around the country; and we complete sewer, water and paving projects on or ahead of schedule. At any hour, we plow snow to keep our streets safe for passage; we also provide reliable and efficient garbage and recycling collection.

🚌 Help shape the future of public transit in Milwaukee County!

Milwaukee County Transit System is asking the community to weigh in on two concepts:
• Ridership Concept: fewer routes, more frequent service
• Coverage Concept: more geographic coverage, less frequent service

Everyone is invited to participate. Learn more, take the survey and find an upcoming community event at ridemcts.com/MCTSForward

We're expanding Milwaukee's protected bikeway network in the East Town neighborhood!

N. Jackson Street will have a two-way protected bike lane on the west side of the street, and E. Michigan Street will have one-way bike lanes on either side of the street, connecting into the two-way bike lanes on N. Jefferson Street.

Please be advised of traffic impacts associated with high impact paving on N. Jackson Street next week!

Not every trip has to look the same.

For one trip, driving may make the most sense. For another, taking transit, biking, walking, riding a scooter, or carpooling may be a good fit.

MKE GO helps people explore available transportation options and find what works best for different trips.

🧹 We were rooting for the sweep, but apparently the brooms were back home.

Tonight, we take it! ⚾️

A big thanks to the Milwaukee Brewers for the flags. We love showing our Crew pride out on the streets of Milwaukee! 💙💛

🧢 After winning the first two games of the NLDS at home, the series shifts to San Diego today.

But don’t worry, there’s still plenty of Brewers spirit here in Milwaukee. The downtown bridges are flying the flags, the city is behind the Crew, and we’re all cheering them on from home.

Let’s keep the October magic going! ⚾️

Is there construction happening near you? You might spot pieces of fabric underneath the storm drains on a street. When it rains, dirt from construction sites can be picked up via runoff and flow into local waterways, causing harmful sediment pollution. To prevent debris from entering storm drains, mechanisms such as temporary fabric filters are placed under storm drains during construction projects. These fabric filters will be removed once construction is complete.
