Safety Starts With YOU! 💛🚦 In recognition of October Safety Awareness Month, we want to give a special shoutout to our amazing crossing guard, Mr. Willie Washington!
For the past 5 years, Mr. Washington has helped our Milwaukee Scholars cross the street safely, making sure they get to and from school with care!
Mr. Washington wants to remind our students and families of a few important safety tips:
- Stay within the crosswalk lines when crossing the street.
- Wait for the traffic signal and crossing guard’s direction before crossing.
- Look both ways and stay alert! The hill near our school can make it difficult for drivers and pedestrians to see oncoming traffic.
- Never assume a driver can see you! Always make sure vehicles have come to a complete stop before crossing.
Thank you, Mr. Washington, for 5 years of dedication, consistency, and keeping our students safe! Your hard work does not go unnoticed! 💛👏🏾
