This was the scene yesterday at the Grand Island-Hall County EOC while President Trump visited our fair city. A huge thanks to everyone who came to help manage and coordinate this large and complex incident. Representatives came from several local and state agencies, the US National Weather Service Hastings Nebraska, and even a few local emergency managers in the EOC collaborated with our 911 Dispatch Center in support.

We also want to commend the Grand Island Police Department for their spectacular planning and coordination with US Secret Service and several local agencies from all over Central Nebraska. The public safety support was well-planned and well-executed.

Thanks everyone!

🚨Prepare now. Be ready when disaster strikes.

September is National Preparedness Month. NEMA encourages Nebraskans to build or update emergency kits with water, food, medications, first aid supplies, flashlights, chargers, pet supplies and important documents.

Take time to make a family emergency plan, too—including how you’ll communicate and where you’ll go if you need to evacuate.
