💚 Douglas County recognizes November 4–11, 2026, as Operation Green Light for Veterans.

At its October 15 meeting, the Board of County Commissioners adopted Proclamation 2026P-059, honoring the courageous men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces and recognizing the sacrifices they have made to protect our freedoms.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to display a green light in a window November 4–11 as a visible sign of appreciation and support for our nation’s veterans. This simple gesture also helps raise awareness of the challenges veterans may face when transitioning to civilian life and the resources available to support them.

Let’s light our community green and show our veterans that their service is valued, their sacrifices are remembered, and they are never forgotten.
