❤️ **HAPPY ELECTION HERO DAY!** ❤️

Today, we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible people who make our elections possible — **our Election Heroes!** 🌟

Behind every election is a dedicated team of full-time staff and election workers who give their time, energy, and hearts to serving our community.

Many of these amazing individuals return **election after election, year after year**, bringing their experience, dedication, and willingness to serve. They work long hours, tackle unexpected challenges, support one another, and do it all with a shared commitment to making every election a success.

Some are the familiar faces you've seen for years, while others are just beginning their election journey. But every single one of them plays an important role, and **every single one of them matters.** ❤️

Elections don't just happen. They happen because of PEOPLE. People who care. People who show up. People who go above and beyond, often behind the scenes and without recognition.

To our Douglas County Election Office staff and our wonderful election workers: **We see you. We appreciate you. And we are so incredibly grateful for YOU!**

You are the heart of our elections, and we couldn't do what we do without you.

**Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear election badges, greet voters with a smile, and keep coming back election after election.** ❤️

**Happy Election Hero Day to OUR heroes!** 🌟

🍝🗳️ IT’S NATIONAL PASTA DAY… AND EARLY VOTING DAY! 🗳️🍝

Saturday, October 17 is doing THE MOST this year. 😂

Not only is it National Pasta Day, it’s also the FIRST DAY OF EARLY VOTING for the 2026 General Election!

So here’s your very important Saturday checklist:

✅ Vote early
✅ Eat pasta
✅ Possibly eat more pasta
✅ Feel wildly productive because you participated in democracy AND honored carbohydrates

📍 Douglas County Community Center
1329 Waterloo Ln., Gardnerville

⏰ Saturday, October 17
10 AM – 2 PM

Come cast your ballot, then go celebrate with spaghetti, lasagna, ravioli, fettuccine, mac & cheese… we are not here to judge your noodle choices. 😂🍝

Just remember:

Don’t be an impasta. VOTE. 🗳️🤣

And please keep the marinara OFF the ballot. We have standards.

🚨🗳️ **FRIDAY, OCTOBER 16 — THIS IS NOT A DRILL!** 🗳️🚨

Tomorrow is the BIG DAY! 🎉

No, it’s not Christmas. 🎄
No, we won't have free puppies. 🐶
And no, we’re not giving away free tacos. 🌮 (We tried. Budget said no.) 😂
We did hide something in the picture so let us know if you found it!

**EARLY VOTING STARTS TOMORROW, OCTOBER 17!** 🇺🇸

That’s right, folks! The voting booths are ready, the election workers are caffeinated ☕, and we’ve checked the supplies approximately 473 times. 🤪

📍 **Douglas County Community Center**
1329 Waterloo Lane, Gardnerville
📅 **Saturday, October 17**
⏰ **10:00 AM – 2:00 PM**

Come cast your vote! ✅

You don't need to dress up. You don't need an appointment. And we promise not to make you give a speech about why you're here. 😂

**The only thing missing is YOU!**

🍰🍪🍩 HAPPY NATIONAL DESSERT DAY! 🍩🍪🍰

Today is the one day we can all agree that calories are simply a rumor. 😂

Cake for breakfast?
🍰 Responsible.

Cookie at 10 AM?
🍪 Practically a vegetable.

Brownie after lunch?
🍫 Self-care.

Pie after dinner?
🥧 Honestly, it would be rude not to.

And if anyone asks why you’re eating dessert again, just calmly explain:

“It’s a NATIONAL holiday. I don’t make the rules.” 😂

Now go forth and celebrate responsibly…

…or don’t. We’re not the Dessert Police. 🚨🍩

10/12/2026

Happy Monday, Douglas County! We are open today! Property Tax installment #2 is due Thursday by 5pm! Please call us if you have any questions, 775-782-9017
