We are a 501(c)3 rescue specializing in injured and dumped domestic waterfowl and USFW licensed for migratory waterfowl and shore birds.

Just because we aren't posting doesn't mean we aren't still taking injureds. Why aren't we posting? Theres not enough hours in the day.

Day before yesterday we were contacted by Emily at my kids have paws in dalton. Someone found a duck and took to them. I said let's get it here and yesterday they sent the xrays to Dr chester. Fractured jaw, fractured sinus cavity and broken wing (which is least of my concerns). He cannot surgically fix but feels it will heal over time. She's not eating.. ive tried pellets and mash with no luck so I've started tube feeding until she can. I also educated finder on why to never use blue kote. I don't know if the beak colors due to the blue kote or an oxygen issue. So now we do a wait and see. We will re xray in couple weeks to check how it's healing. She needs a strong name so make your suggestions in the comments.

Grant, Kimberly, Madison and I headed to canton to speak at cub scout pack 241 last Thursday on what we do and why. Then Saturday the pack came here for a volunteer day. Soo much was accomplished in just a few hours! Sticks in the goat yard picked up, fresh shavings in the barn. Chicken and baby coops cleaned and fresh bedding to name a few. But it also brought alot of cuddles and seeing ducks like nugget and quicker who enjoy being petted and around humans, especially little humans :)
We sppreciate the help sooo much and ty rebecca for forwarding the photos so we can share :)

Was out feeding and saw this fly to the tree. Beautiful, stunning and yet terrifying with ducks out. Everyone's safe and i feel privileged to have this visitor

Technology.. ugh

I broke the rescue phone while out on a rescue. 3 weeks wait time for a new screen so I got a new phone. Then found nothing transferred over even though it was on auto backup. Yesterday I headed to Grove repairs in blue ridge and after 2 hours most he had transferred over. When this all happened I was texting regarding 2 emergencies and then couldn't reach them. It was frustrating and stressful. Most messages no longer show up. Even on personal messages they are all blank. Phones are the lifeline of helping and when that lifeline is cut off it creates a panic. I also had photos that were irreplaceable from my best friends husbands funeral, different things with my kids, intakes, etc. And then trying to find grants number to let him know what was going on so he could temporarily change the voicemail. I have no numbers memorized because we no longer need to.

Stress was added to what was already chaos. I'm now back up and running with some things missing but at least I'm able to answer now.

So... how's your week going lol

Julie's phone took a tumble on rescue today, so she's currently unable to be reached and has no access to FB, her texts, etc.

We have a new ambassador at the rescue

Heather found this boy as an injured baby in July, got him healed up and reached out. Got him to grant last night and since Grant and i were speaking to a cub scout troop last night the timing worked out perfectly. Last night when I got him home it was late so I sat down and he climbed into my lap. This morning he happily greeted me. Hes so stinking sweet he will make fantastic ambassador to show folks why they make great pets, show the personality these amazing animals are and show folks how tame they really can be. I just adore him 😍

Update: sometimes even when we get help out immediately it still isnt enough :( when fire dept got there, the goose was deceased. Thank you to everyone who offered help. So expexted a different outcome
