This is commUNITY in action 🌟

Our friends at Plate2Plate were recently featured in The Star Tribune. Founded by a group of students at Wayzata High School, they aim to combat food waste and alleviate food insecurity in Minnesota.

These incredible students have been donating huge quantities of bread and other baked goods to The Bridge – helping ensure youth in shelter are well fed.

This is the kind of love and care that changes EVERYTHING for youth in shelter – and for the entire commUNITY 🧡

Thank you, Plate2Plate, for your support – and congrats on your article! Click here to read more: https://loom.ly/IlIGtCY

Together we’re keeping youth warm! Our friends at Bonita Helping Hands Flowers hosted a blanket drive to support youth at The Bridge. They exceeded their goal and donated 73 blankets!

When youth come to The Bridge, they like to pick out items that make them feel at home. Having so many blankets to choose from is just one way we show them love and care.

Thank you to Bonita Helping Hands Flowers for this record-breaking blanket donation!

isn’t just a day to celebrate Native American culture. It’s a day to listen to the strength, history, and wisdom of our Indigenous neighbors who have stewarded this land for millennia. The Bridge for Youth sits on the traditional, ancestral, and contemporary homeland of the Dakota People.

Dakota culture has passed down 7 values for generations: Prayer, Wisdom, Respect, Generosity, Humility, Caring and Compassion, Honesty and Truth. We believe these teachings are important and ever-present in our work to ensure all youth are safe, accepted, and supported.

At The Bridge, we’re committed to dismantling dominant culture, respecting children as sacred beings, and receiving the wisdom needed to walk with our Indigenous neighbors.

Today we’re sending love, strength, and space to our Indigenous youth, staff, board, and commUNITY members. The Bridge for Youth believes everyday is Indigenous Peoples’ Day because we are on Native land.

October is - a time to celebrate and reflect on key moments in q***r history. Hear more from our youth social media committee on moments of LGBTQ+ History that resonate with them:
🌈In 1973, the National LGBTQ+ Task Force was formed (then known as the National Gay Task Force). It was the first national LGBTQ+ organization in the U.S.

✊In 1977, The organization’s co-executive director, Jean O’Leary, met with the White House (specifically with Midge Costanza, President Carter’s assistant) to discuss discriminatory federal policies against the gay community. And now in

🧡2026, the chants of the Stonewall Uprising still stay true; we must support “gay power” and know that “we shall overcome.”

The Bridge is a safe space for all LGBTQ+ youth, and home to the Twin Cities' longest-running q***r youth support group, 'So What If I Am?', which meets every Tuesday at 4:30. To learn more, email [email protected].

🏃 When it comes to supporting youth, it's a marathon, not a race...literally! We want to give a special shout-out to commUNITY member Nicholas Reily. This past weekend, he ran his first-ever marathon and used it to support The Bridge for Youth!

Leading up to his run at the TC Marathon, Nicholas called upon his community to make donations to The Bridge in honor of his run. Thanks to his efforts, he helped welcome new donors to The Bridge all while crossing the finish line!

Thank you, Nicholas, for using your unique platform to help youth feel safe, accepted, and supported 🧡
