Fire Prevention Week Hot Dog Lunch & Bake Sale Success!

A huge THANK YOU to all the MAC employees who came out to support our annual Fire Prevention Week hot dog lunch and bake sale! We loved seeing everyone stop by, enjoy some food, and purchase goodies from our bake sale. Your support helped make this event a success!

We couldn’t do it without our amazing members who donated their time, baked goods, and effort to support the event. A special thank-you to A Shift for preparing and serving the food!

And an extra-special shout-out to Jenny for coordinating and running the bake sale. From the incredible baked goods to all the time and effort she puts into making this event happen, we truly couldn’t do it without her! ❤️

Thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated, and participated. Your generosity and teamwork help make this event a success year after year!

Community, teamwork, and prevention make a difference!

During our 3rd Quarter Mandatory Training, MSP Airport Fire crews have been getting hands-on with our new Milwaukee battery-powered cut-off saws.

Members put the new equipment through its paces by cutting directly into aircraft structure—specifically a 757 wing section —to evaluate cutting speed, handling, and battery performance under real-world ARFF forcible entry scenarios. Upgrading to reliable, high-torque battery tools gives our firefighters rapid, pull-string-free deployment when every second counts on the airfield.

Never forget.

Today, the members of IAFF Local S-6 stood together to mark 25 years since September 11, 2001. We paused to honor the 343 FDNY firefighters who answered their final call, along with every life lost on that tragic morning.
A quarter-century has passed, but time will never soften our promise to never forget. The courage, selflessness, and sacrifice shown by our brothers on 9/11 remain the gold standard for every firefighter who puts on the uniform today.

We carry their memory with us on every shift, on every call, and on every runway.
