MPRB Volunteers Our community benefits when YOU volunteer! [email protected] We provide all necessary training for our volunteers.

Each year, volunteers dedicate thousands of hours to Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board programs. Our entire community benefits when YOU serve by coaching, gardening, instructing, or helping at a special event. Recreation Volunteers – Coach youth sports or serve as instructors for classes offered in neighborhood parks. Environmental Volunteers – One-time and ongoing opportunities are available to help with gardening, landscaping and invasive species removal projects. Group Volunteer Projects – Groups ranging in size from 5 to 50 can assist with a variety of outdoor projects during non-snow months, which may include gardening, landscaping, or removing invasive species. Special Events – Year-round community events help make Minneapolis vibrant for everyone! Help is needed at events such as holiday parties, 5K fun runs, neighborhood festivals, Earth Day, the Minneapolis Bike Tour, and more. To learn more, email [email protected] or call 612-313-7779.

🌧️🌱 **Rain garden glow-up alert!** 🌱🌧️
Huge shoutout to **Jeremy & Alena**, dedicated Park Stewards who took on the mission of whipping the **Bossen Field rain garden** into shape—and WOW, did they deliver! 👏🌿

In **less than one season**, a garden that needed some serious TLC has been turned into a thriving native plant space. 💪🌼

What’s the secret sauce?
✨ Persistence
🌱 A serious love of native plants
💚 A deep appreciation for Minneapolis parks
🧤 And apparently, a willingness to get *very* acquainted with a shovel!

Jeremy & Alena, you took on the challenge and showed that a little determination can go a **long way**—especially when you’re willing to get your hands dirty. 😂

**Thanks to you both for helping Bossen Field bloom!** 🌸🌿
