The school day at Glacial Hills Elementary starts not with the sound of a bell but with the sounds of nature. Since 2023, Glacial Hills has leaned into its mission as an environmental education charter school by incorporating the outdoors in all aspects of school life by building up its outdoor learning center. The outdoor center includes an classroom, a hammock hotel, a vegetable garden, and a playground. Students start the day with an outdoor assembly whenever possible and learn and play in the outdoors.
