A basic Minnesota Star Tribune digital subscription is required to watch the streams on Strib Varsity. Existing Star Tribune subscribers do not need to create a new account; their login provides access to Strib Varsity.

For each game, the feed should start about 60 minutes before game time. Non-subscribers will be prompted to subscribe when they click on the stream and will need to create an account if they don’t have one already, so we recommend visiting the website early so this doesn’t interfere with watching the start of the game.

IB Environmental Systems and Societies students assessed the health of Minnehaha Creek by collecting benthic macroinvertebrates and assessing their tolerance levels. Invertebrates living in the creek are characterized by how sensitive they are to pollution, warm water, and other water quality changes due to human activity. In our short time at the creek, we found caddis fly larvae, predacious diving beetle larvae, mayfly larvae, mussels, leeches, a water scorpion, water striders, water boatmen, and many many crayfish. On top of the learning, students had a great time trying out waders and "playing" in the creek. --from Ms. Housenga, Science Teacher
