People sometimes avoid going to homeless shelters because they don't feel safe there, or they don't want to be separated from their pets, partners or belongings. Avivo is changing that model.

34 individuals moved in to Avivo Village Central Minnesota on day 1, enabling them to sleep indoors and begin their journey toward permanent housing. Thank you to everyone who has helped make that happen!

A huge thank you to these AMAZING volunteers! Prairie Lutheran Church Social Justice Group and Faith in Housing volunteered recently at our new Avivo Village Central Minnesota. With the people power of 23 folks we were able to build shelves, organization donations and welcome kit supplies, build a picnic table, and so much more! All this helps us get one step closer to the being ready to open.

Congratulations to our latest graduating class of Office Support Specialists at the Avivo Institute of Career & Technical Education! Some students will seek full-time employment after graduation, and some will continue in other Avivo training programs. We wish them the best of luck after working hard to graduate!

A huge thank you to our friends at the Tri-County Humane Society! They stocked us up with basic pet supplies in advance of the first shelter guests moving into Avivo Village Central Minnesota, along with their pets. We are grateful to have partners like the Tri-County Humane Society who help us ensure that we have needed supplies for pets when people move into Avivo Village.

Thanks to Ramsey County Commissioner Rena Moran for visiting Avivo Village to see it, speak with staff, and learn more about the steps we've taken to allow people to feel welcome and dignified as they work toward finding permanent housing. We were excited to see that Commissioner Moran included her visit to Avivo in her monthly newsletter for September!
