Earlier this month, Gilda's Club Minnesota CEO Katherine Todd had the honor of emceeing the Twin Cities Breakthrough for Brain Tumors 5K! Katherine, our outreach volunteers, and Hank had a great time connecting with attendees and supporting American Brain Tumor Association in their mission to further brain tumor research and provide patient services. We're always grateful for the chance to team up with our fellow organizations working to support those impacted by cancer!

Gilda's Club won an Upper Midwest Emmy® Award for Gilda's Club Minnesota: The Mike Bauer Story! This work, created in partnership with Karl Demer of Atomic K Records and Productions, won the Community Service award. We're so grateful to Karl Demer, Bauer Design Build LLC, and the Minnesota Horse and Hunt Club for helping us tell this story. Join Gilda's Club for What I Wish I Had Known: Life Lessons Learned from Cancer Survivorship on Tuesday, October 27th! Dr. Tasha Carlson will share insights drawn from both her personal experience and her work supporting individuals affected by cancer through the Minnesota Young Survival Coalition. While every cancer experience is unique, there are common themes and challenges that many survivors encounter throughout treatment and into survivorship. This session explores those shared experiences and the lessons they can offer.

On Tuesday, October 20th, Amy Kalbrener, LPCC, ATR and Jenni Greseth, LMFT will be joining us in the clubhouse to lead Putting the Pieces Back Together: Navigating Life Post Treatment with Art Therapy. Part of our Mental Health and Cancer Series with InMind Health, this workshop focuses on life after cancer treatment utilizing principles from art therapy, the Japanese art of repairing broken bowls, and writings from Toni Bernhard.
