Some things are so cool they must be shared!

Our crew kicked off Monday night training outside in downtown Minocqua, focusing on hydrant operations and effective hose lays between emergency scenes and water sources. When lightning hit the lake, we moved back to the station to keep our training environment safe. Firefighter Radmer caught the moment on camera!

Safety always comes first, and whatever the weather, we're ready to answer the call.

Great shot, Firefighter Radmer!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Our open house was everything we hoped for, and that’s because of you! Thank you for stopping by and for all the great conversations.

There was so much to see and do:

- Our very first duck race, and congratulations to our three young champions!
- Tours of the Minocqua Fire & Rescue Department vehicles
- Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources bulldozer
- Minocqua town truck with a huge snowblower
- Oneida County EMS ambulance
- Minocqua Police Department squad cars
- Jakes Mobile Cafe
- Dan's Minocqua Fudge

A huge thank you to our partners for bringing their equipment and their time. Thank you also to everyone who cheered along the water’s edge and bought a duck. We can’t wait to do it again next year!

Your continued support means the world to us. We couldn’t do this without you, and we’re so grateful to be part of such an incredible community.

With heartfelt thanks!

Tomorrow’s the big day!

Climb inside fire department and town trucks, take on our obstacle course, grab a hose and spray some water, and check out the tools firefighters rely on every day. Tour the station, cool off with some ice cream, and meet Smokey Bear!

Did we mention the amazing food from Jakes Mobile Cafe?!

Whether you’re 5 or 95, there’s something here for you. Bring the family, bring the neighbors, and come see what your fire department is all about.

See you tomorrow!

Fire Prevention Week at MHLT!

Minocqua Fire & Rescue Department was honored to join the Lake Tomahawk Fire Department and Hazelhurst Fire Department at MHLT this week for Fire Prevention Week. Our students learned this year's theme, "Charge into Fire Safety: Safe Charging Is a Superpower," including why devices should never be charged on beds or under pillows and should be unplugged once fully charged.

Each department shared an important lesson:

Lake Tomahawk Fire Department demonstrated their full firefighter gear, so students know what a firefighter looks like if one ever comes to help them in a fire.

Hazelhurst Fire Department explained the importance of having a family meeting spot in case of a fire.

Minocqua Fire and Rescue covered smoke detectors and home safety.

The day ended with truck tours, and the students loved every minute! Thank you to our firefighters for investing in our kids and keeping our community safe.

We had so much fun!
