β οΈ STORM SHELTER NOW OPEN β οΈ
Due to the forecasted severe weather and high wind threat, the City of Minot storm shelter is now open and will remain open through 11:00 p.m., or longer if conditions warrant.
The storm shelter is located in the Minot Municipal Court area of the Minot Auditorium (420 3rd Ave SW). Door 4 on the west wall is open.
Due to several road construction projects in the area, access to the shelter is available via 6th St SW to 3rd Ave SW. Please follow posted signage to Municipal Court.
If you need a safe place during the storm, please do not hesitate to use the shelter. If pets need to travel with you, a leash is required, a kennel is appreciated.

Why participate in summer reading?
Reading during the summer helps with:
β
Building and maintaining vocabulary
β
Staying engaged and learning while school is out
β
Strengthening communication and social skills through stories, discussions, and shared reading experiences
β
Retaining important skills learned during the school year
Kids who don't read over the summer are more at risk of losing some of the academic progress made during the previous school year. A little reading each day can make a big difference!
Reading doesn't have to look traditional.
π§ Listen to audiobooks during car rides or while doing chores
π Read while waiting in grocery pickup or food pickup lines
π Bring a book to the park, pool, or sporting events
ποΈ Attend summer programs and story times at your local library
π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Read together as a family and talk about the stories
Join us at the library this summer for fun, educational programs for all ages and don't forget to sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge! Stay motivated, discover new books, earn prizes, and make the library part of an exciting summer. Sign up today on Beanstack or stop in and ask a staff member for assistance!
