In Montana, where opportunities to socialize with other LGBT people are few and far between, a Community Center is a valuable resource. That's why the Western Montana Community Center opened in Missoula, MT on October 11, 1999. The Center provides a safe and welcoming environment for LGBT identified community members and their allies to socialize, build relationships, explore our multitude of programs and social gatherings, and engage in critical advocacy work to protect and advance LGBTQ rights at the local and state level.

🎃 October at the Center 🎃

If there's one season the q***r community loves above all others, it's Halloween. And if there's one Halloween tradition the community looks forward to most, it's Rocky Horror. This year the tradition is back!! As sponsors of the event, we can't wait to see the show alongside you, dressing in our finest fishnets and shouting every iconic call-and-response 😉.

But don't forget about our regularly scheduled community groups! As the weather gets colder, the Center is the perfect place to escape the cold and make a new friend while you're at it.

The Montana Two Spirit Society also wants to recognize two very special people—our partners from the Western Montana Community Center, our coworkers, and, more importantly, our friends—for their contributions to the 30th Annual Montana Two Spirit Gathering & 39th Annual International Two Spirit Gathering.

Emily and Kera were constantly on the move throughout the gathering, doing so many things in so many different places that I never managed to catch up with them long enough to take decent photos! ❤️

Thankfully, the Western Montana Community Center’s recent Rainbow Ball was in a smaller venue than our camp, so even with my cane, I was finally able to corner them long enough to get some photos. 😂📸

All joking aside, Emily and Kera are truly wonderful people. They are the kind of friends and partners who show up, jump in wherever they are needed, and somehow make even the most stressful moments not only bearable, but fun.

Partnerships between organizations are important, but the relationships and friendships behind those partnerships are what make them truly meaningful.

Emily and Kera, thank you for everything you did to help make this year’s gathering a success and for everything you do throughout the year. We appreciate you both! ❤️🪶🌈
