Earlier today, Missouri City Fire & Rescue crews responded to an apartment fire in the 6300 block of Sienna Ranch. Crews arrived within minutes to find a kitchen fire that had already been successfully controlled by the building’s fire sprinkler system. Thankfully, there were no civilian injuries reported.

Firefighters quickly secured the area and shut down the sprinkler system to help minimize additional water damage to the affected apartment.

This incident is another reminder of why fire sprinklers and working fire alarm systems matter. Fire sprinklers activate quickly, control or extinguish fires before they spread, and provide occupants valuable time to escape safely. In many cases, they help save not only lives, but also homes, property, and treasured belongings.

The National Fire Sprinkler Association (NFSA) continues to emphasize a simple message: “Fire Sprinklers Save Lives and Property.” Today’s response is a perfect example of that message in action.

Great work by responding crews and thanks to the residents for their quick actions and cooperation.

Last night, one of our residents experienced every homeowner’s nightmare. Thanks to the quick actions of our C Shift crews, the fire was contained before it could spread further into the home, limiting the damage and keeping the family safe.

This is our mission in action protecting lives, property, and our community when seconds matter most.

We also want to thank Fort Bend County ESD 7 for responding to the scene , Pearland Fire Department, and Sugar Land Fire Department for their support and for backfilling stations to help maintain coverage across the city while crews worked this incident.

What a great opportunity for future firefighters and EMS professionals at the first TEEX Fire & EMS Career Day of the year. It was an honor to attend as an organization, connect with future members of the profession, and help provide insight into the fire and EMS career path.

We are especially proud and grateful that our own Chief Reyes participated alongside two other area chiefs on a Q&A panel, helping recruits better understand how to prepare for the hiring process, what departments are looking for, and what it takes to succeed in this profession.

Events like this are important for building relationships, mentoring the next generation, and strengthening the future of the fire service. Thank you to TEEX and everyone who helped make the event a success.

If you missed this one, keep an eye out for another Career Day later this year , we will be there!

Yesterday, our entire department’s leadership team came together for a powerful day of leadership, teamwork, and strengthening our department culture.

Hosted at Sienna Sawmill Lake Club, the retreat focused on our Mission, Vision, and Core Values while building stronger connections across the department. The energy, collaboration, and commitment shown throughout the day from our Officers reflected the dedication our leaders have to each other and the community we proudly serve.

A special thank you to Sienna Parks & Recreation for the use of their beautiful facility and their support throughout the day and also to Sugar Land Fire for supporting us with a Battalion Chief to cover our city for the day!

🌸 Happy Mother’s Day from Missouri City Fire & Rescue! 🌸

Today we proudly recognize and celebrate all of our firefighter mothers and support staff mothers who make sacrifices every day to serve our community while spending time away from their own families. Your strength, dedication, compassion, and commitment do not go unnoticed.

We also want to recognize the spouse mothers of our firefighters who carry the extra responsibilities at home while their loved ones are on duty protecting and serving others. Your support, patience, and sacrifices are an essential part of our public safety family.

Thank you for balancing both lives in the demanding world of public safety while continuing to care for your families and our community with unwavering love and resilience.

From all of us at Missouri City Fire & Rescue, we wish you a wonderful, safe and Happy Mother’s Day! 💐❤️🚒
