Happy What We're Reading Wednesday! For today's staff selection, librarian Ashley has selected TWO books that are perfect for spooky season! 👻Take a look:

"Here are two recommendations perfect for spooky season, featuring my favorite horror trope: a haunted house!

" 'Play Nice' by Rachel Harrison follows a woman named Clio who returns to her childhood home to fix it up after her mother passes away. The twist? Her mother claimed the house was haunted and even wrote a book about it! As Clio begins renovating, she discovers there might be some truth to her mother's claims after all.
"Rachel Harrison's books never disappoint, and I love how she blends just the right amount of humor into her stories, even when things start to get really scary!

"I listened to 'Diavola' by Jennifer Thorne on audiobook, and it made for a wonderfully creepy listening experience! There's something especially unsettling about a beautiful setting hiding something sinister beneath the surface. This one had a great narrator, too! I was quickly caught up in the family dynamics, as well as the way the author slowly reveals the villa's dark history and the mystery of who—or what—haunts it.

"Both books blend supernatural horror, complicated family relationships, and the unsettling feeling that the past is never truly behind us. They're perfect for readers who love atmospheric scares, family secrets, and a little dark humor with their horror." 🎃🍂

Danny brought history to life with a memorable visit that gave our community a chance to step back in time and learn more about one of our nation’s most well-known presidents.
