Congratulations to chairwoman Katie Houchin and the entire Persimmon Festival Committee on a fantastic week of entertainment- from the Queen Contests to the nightly stage performances and a great parade on Saturday. This festival succeeds because of countless hours donated by volunteers who give their time, energy, and heart to make this tradition shine.

A special thank you to the Mitchell Police Department for the extra walking patrols throughout the week, to the Mitchell Volunteer Fire Department for staffing the nightly first aid station, to the Water Department for maintaining all the water hook-ups, and to the Street Department for the trash cleanup that keeps our downtown looking its best.

The teamwork, dedication, and pride shown by everyone involved in the festival is what makes Mitchell such a great hometown.
