Wed., Oct 21 is Unity Day. Help Stop Childhood Bullying.

The City supports the Grand County School District in celebrating Unity Day on Wed., Oct. 21 as part of National Bullying Prevention Month.

Wear and share orange to send a visible message of kindness and acceptance and help unite our community around the idea that no child should ever experience bullying.

Bob the Bighorn is sporting orange. So can you!

Thanks to city staff and Councilman Colin Topper for helping the city join in this celebration.

🚧 ROTARY PARK PLAYGROUNDS CLOSED THROUGH EARLY NOVEMBER 🛝
The City of Moab is making improvements to both playground areas at Rotary Park. We’ll be installing new rubber surfacing to provide an added layer of protection for children while they play.

🔨 Here’s the project timeline:
• This week: Crews will remove the existing base material and install new curbing around both playground areas.
• Next week: The new pour-in-place rubber surfacing will be installed and will need time to cure.

⚠️ Both playground areas will remain closed through early November while this work is completed. Please plan accordingly.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete these improvements to help make playtime safer for our community’s kids.

Thank you, Moab!

CREEKS ARE STARTING TO RISE - SANDBAGS ARE AVAILABLE
🌧️ Creek levels are rising in Moab.
Steady, at times heavy, rain across Moab and the surrounding area has caused creek levels to rise. While we are not seeing flooding in town at this time, it’s important to take precautions and be prepared.
Need sandbags to help protect your property? Sandbags are available 24/7 at the following locations:
📍 Former Red Rock Elementary property, across from Rotary Park
📍 North Emma Boulevard parking lot – access from Main Street at the HAWK light.
📍 South 100 East at Groff Bike Skills Park
Sandbags are also available during regular business hours at:
• Moab City Public Works Yard
• Grand County Roads Department
Please keep an eye on changing conditions.

Grand County Emergency Management has also issued this safety reminder: Floodwaters can hide road damage and additional hazards, and can be deeper than they appear. If water is running over a roadway, use an alternate route. During wet weather, exercise caution in areas such as:

🚗 Low water crossings in Moab/Spanish Valley (Sunny Acres, Stocks Drive, Kerby Lane, Old City Park) if water comes over the road
🚗 The Book Cliffs
🚗The area around Floy Wash

Turn around, don't drown!
