When the cottonwoods start to turn yellow, that's when we know fall has truly arrived. Temps are (finally!) cooling down this week, with highs in the 60's and lows in the 40's. That's still warm enough to hike during the day, and cool enough to cozy up by a campfire at night.

Moab is home to some pretty stellar canyoneering routes — like the route to rappel through Morning Glory Natural Bridge, pictured here. Guides make canyoneering easy, for beginners and experts alike.

Have you ever explored the Shafer Trail?

It's a breathtaking road (both in its beauty and in its steep grade) that cuts through the backcountry of the Island in the Sky District of Canyonlands National Park. It makes for an exciting guided trip, a long and fun bike ride, and a gorgeous drive.

Only half of visitors to Arches National Park visit Canyonlands - and even less drive the Shafer Trail. Stay an extra day and put it on your list!

What are your favorite autumn things to do in Moab? For us, it's going on longer hikes to places we don't often get to in the summer (read, see: Castleton Tower), admiring the aspens at Warner Lake, and attending a zillion local events (see you at Harvest Festival this weekend!).
