Today we’re celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day by looking back at Saturday’s Native Dance Performance.

From the dancers and songs to the food and time spent together, the event was an opportunity to celebrate Indigenous cultures, honor traditions, and bring our community together.

A big thank you to Rhonda Duvall Urban Indian Center of Salt Lake Ay Ay Ron Echoing Spirit Dancers, and everyone who shared their time, talents, and traditions with us. We’re grateful to everyone who helped make this event possible.

Happy Indigenous Peoples Day!

During the last 26 years of her law career, Jeannine Pappas Timothy represented hundreds of children as their Guardian ad Litem, calling it her “most rewarding work.”

She visited children in their foster homes, parents’ homes, and juvenile care centers. She gathered information from biological parents, foster parents, therapists, and educators. She grieved with children whose parents died during court cases, celebrated when they returned home to their parents, and captured the moment when judges invited children to sign court decrees granting them permanency in a new home with parents who love them and are ready to sacrifice for them.

From 2021 to 2024, Jeannine served on the Utah Foster Care Board, where she learned how Utah Foster Care supports foster families as they care for children.

During that time, she watched as First Lady Abby Cox and Utah Foster Care worked to create and launch Care Communities. After completing her term on the board, Jeannine was invited to join the Care Communities Advisory Board. She readily accepted because, as she shared, she had “first-hand knowledge of the struggles that impact foster families.”

“Supporting foster families results in positive experiences for the children in their homes.”

Today, Jeannine continues introducing Care Communities to her friends and family. She has a presentation scheduled at her church parish and is reaching out to other parishes and community groups to explain the program and encourage involvement.

We’re grateful for Jeannine and her continued commitment to supporting foster families and the children in their care.

What can happen when a community says yes?

311 lives changed for the better.

This National Good Neighbor Day, we’re celebrating the neighbors, volunteers, and community members who said “yes” to supporting foster families. Through simple acts of kindness, they helped create a lasting impact for families across Utah.

Thank you Abby Palmer Cox Utah First Lady Abby Cox and all of our neighbors for being part of the first year of Care Communities.

Today, we’re celebrating ONE YEAR of Care Communities in Utah!

On September 24, 2025, Utah Foster Care joined Governor and First Lady Abby Cox at a press conference to officially launch Care Communities in partnership with Show Up Utah.

This meaningful program surrounds foster families with local volunteers who provide support, encouragement, and practical help with everyday tasks. Because when foster families have a caring community around them, they are empowered to continue the important work of caring for children in foster care.

Stay tuned throughout the month as we celebrate the program, share stories, and highlight the impact Care Communities are having for Utah foster families.

Driven by a legacy fostered through hope. 💜

What an unforgettable evening at this year’s Fostering Hope Gala! Thanks to the generosity of our incredible supporters, we celebrated a record-breaking night of donations, helping create brighter futures for children in foster care.

A special thank-you to Emmanuel Nnah and Kirsten Rappleye for serving as our emcees and helping make the evening so memorable. We also extend our congratulations to SME and Club Paddock on the awards they received in recognition of their continued supportive efforts towards Utah Foster Care.

This year’s theme, Driven by Legacy, held a special meaning as we honored the memory of Cameron Williams, a former prospective board member whose impact continues to inspire us. We are incredibly grateful to the Williams family for sharing the Chevy Nova SS in his honor. During the evening, we were excited to announce the winner of this incredible vehicle, continuing a legacy rooted in generosity, compassion, and hope.

From our exciting opportunity drawing prizes and incredible auction items to the purple carpet, watercolor portraits, and prize pulls, the evening was filled with meaningful moments, fun experiences, and opportunities to make a lasting impact.
Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, volunteered, and helped make this record-breaking evening possible. Your generosity is helping us build a lasting legacy of hope for children and families across Utah.
