This October, Randolph County Ambulance District is proud to recognize one of our very own, Stephanie Clark, a breast cancer survivor whose journey is a powerful example of strength, determination, and resilience.
In November 2011, Stephanie received news that would forever change her life — she had breast cancer. What followed was a whirlwind of appointments, decisions, and treatments. Things moved quickly, and on December 20, 2011, just one month after her diagnosis, Stephanie underwent a double mastectomy.
Following surgery, further testing of her breast tissue revealed that she was battling not just one, but two different types of cancer. In January 2012, Stephanie began chemotherapy, undergoing two different types of chemotherapy treatments at the same time.
What Stephanie faced was far from easy. Behind every treatment, every appointment, and every difficult day was a woman fighting for her health, her future, and her life.
Today, nearly 15 years after her diagnosis, Stephanie’s story is one of survival, perseverance, and hope. Her journey serves as a reminder that behind every pink ribbon is a real person with a story worth telling.
As EMS professionals, we dedicate our lives to caring for others, but sometimes the strongest fighters are the very people standing beside us.
Stephanie, we are incredibly proud to have you as part of our RCAD family. Your journey is inspiring, and we are honored to celebrate not only your survivorship but also the incredible woman you are today.
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we encourage everyone to remember the importance of early detection, regular screenings, and supporting those affected by this disease.
💗 To those fighting, we stand beside you.
💗 To those who have survived, we celebrate you.
💗 To those we have lost, we remember you.
