Ms. Herrington’s first graders had a spooktacular time carving a jack-o’-lantern. They learned about the different parts of a pumpkin and explored the life cycle of a pumpkin from seed to harvest. The fun continued as students counted and added the pumpkin seeds, combining science and math in one hands-on learning experience.

Ms. Winchester’s first-grade class is exploring patterns in the sky. Students are observing a sundial and discovering how the position of the Sun changes throughout the day, causing the sundial’s shadow to move. Through hands-on observation, our young scientists are learning how the Sun’s movement creates patterns we can observe in the world around us.

The gentle beauty before the storm…
On Thursday, we hosted a wonderful Grandparents’ Day at Council Traditional School!

We kicked off the celebration with a special PreK 4 breakfast, followed by picnic lunches on the lawn for our Kindergarten through 5th grade students and their grandparents. The campus was filled with smiles, laughter, and cherished memories as grandparents spent quality time with the students they love.

We are especially grateful for the flexibility of our families who adjusted plans following the hurricane and helped make this beloved tradition a tremendous success. Their support is a testament to the strength of our Council community.

The excitement continued at our Annual Fall Book Fair, where grandparents and students enjoyed exploring new books together and celebrating a shared love of reading.

Thank you to all of our grandparents, families, staff, volunteers, and community partners for making the day so special. Your presence helped create a joyful celebration of family, learning, and community.
