The Mobile Film Office is a full-time office and department of the City of Mobile.

The purpose of the Film Office is to act as a liaison between the film industry, the government and the community in order to facilitate on-location production in the Mobile area by educating, informing, setting standards of professionalism, and serving as a clearinghouse for location production information.

Creative Meet-Up November: Our Thanksgiving Creative Meet-Up will take place on November 16th, from 6- 8 p.m. at the Crescent Theater. Come out for a night of networking and come see what the wild cards have in store for our filmmakers participating in our Holiday Film Scramble.

Holiday Film Scramble: There is still time to sign up for the holiday film scramble. DM us or comment below if you would like to sign up. Our holiday film scramble will test our filmmakers' ability to hide easter eggs. Filmmakers will make a festive holiday film where key pieces of their snowman are disguised as visual Easter eggs across different scenes. It will push their creative boundaries, and they must keep their snowman's true identity top secret.

At Creative Meet-Up on November 16th from 6-8pm at the Crescent Theater, a wild card will be given to each team. If you can't make it, your team will be emailed the Wild card.

Films are due Saturday, December 5th by midnight to qualify for judging by the panel. Films can still be turned in any time after that before the showing on Monday, Dec 7th, and still qualify for Audience Choice and best easter eggs.

Films will be shown at Creative Meet-Up on December 7th from 6- 8 pm at the Crescent Theater.

We had a spooktacular Creative Meet-Up last night with a screening of seven uniquely diffrent short films at the Crescent Theater. For the scramble filmmakers had to create a film based on a random photograph they were given.

Two Animated films from students in the University Of South Alabama Animation program are headed to film festivals. "Jamie's Cosmic Chase" is headed to the Brooklyn ScFi Festival and "Animal Fighters" is headed to the AfroSouth Film Festival. Best of luck to these two films.

Mobile Animation Film Festival is this weekend. So many wonderful films will be shown for free at the Cresent Theater this Saturday, October, 10th starting at 1pm. Check out animated films from all over including some made right here in Lower
Alabama.
