🌼❤️💙 Congratulations to Our October Marigold Award Winners! 💙❤️🌼

We are so excited to recognize these amazing ladies as our October Marigold Award recipients! 🌼

In the article Find Your Marigold from Cult of Pedagogy, Jennifer Gonzalez reminds us that marigolds are special flowers because, when planted near other plants, they help them grow stronger and healthier. Just like these flowers, these three ladies are just a sample of those who bring out the best in those around them at Austin.

Marigolds are encouragers, supporters, problem-solvers, and positive influences. They lift others up, share their wisdom, lend a helping hand, and make even the toughest days a little brighter. They don't just grow themselves—they help everyone around them BLOOM!

🌼 Thank you for being the marigolds in our hive! You are true DIFFERENCE MAKERS, and we are so grateful for the sunshine you bring to MBA each and every day!

CONGRATULATIONS Rachael Carter, Kimberly Jackson, and Bethany Lake.

🐝 One Hive. Unlimited Potential. Endless Excellence. ❤️💙

🎪🥪 IT’S NATIONAL SCHOOL LUNCH WEEK! 🍎🥗

Step right up! 🎟️ Our cafeteria is going UNDER THE BIG TOP this week as we celebrate National School Lunch Week with a circus-themed menu full of fun and delicious surprises! 🎡🍿 Our amazing cafeteria staff is excited to welcome our students for a week of circus-inspired meals and lots of lunchtime fun! 🤡🎉

🥗 Why Does School Lunch Matter?

Learning takes energy, and our students need nutritious meals to stay focused, energized, and ready to learn! 💪📚 National School Lunch Week celebrates the important role school meals play in helping our students grow, thrive, and succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

🇺🇸 Established in 1962 by President John F. Kennedy, National School Lunch Week highlights the importance of school lunch programs. The National School Lunch Program began in 1946 to help provide nutritious meals to children across the country. Today, school meals continue to support students, families, and communities by helping reduce childhood hunger and fueling young minds and bodies.

🎪❤️ A BIG TOP THANK YOU to our incredible cafeteria team for all they do to serve our students with care and make lunchtime special!

🍎 This National School Lunch Week, let’s celebrate school meals and the important role they play in creating healthy, happy, and successful learners!

🎟️ Come one, come all—it’s going to be a spectacular week in our cafeteria! 🎡🥪

We love the exposure our students get by choosing a club that interests them!

Yesterday we celebrated our fearless leader, Mrs. Terry!! Mrs. Terry was showered with love and gifts, smothered in hugs, and went home with many "anything but birthday" balloons. We are so thankful that Mrs. Terry is ours here at Mary B! Happy birthday, Mrs. Terry!

We are thankful to have Mrs. Carter as part of our MBA family!

Rachael Carter grew up walking to school at Mary B. Austin Elementary. Her parents still live two blocks from the school. Now, she's teaching a new generation of first-graders there. "I'm getting to serve the community that served me. I became a teacher because of teachers who were here at Austin and now I'm able to pour back into the students in the community I grew up in." Carter, a 10-year educator, particularly loves teaching students how to read, focusing on building their confidence and practice habits.
