It’s Male Breast Cancer Awareness Week. Although rare, men can get breast cancer, too. In fact, an estimated 2,670 men in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and 530 will die. Breast cancer in men is often diagnosed at later stages when it is harder to treat. That’s why it’s important to share the signs and symptoms of male breast cancer with the men in your life.

Today is National Mammography Day, a day set aside to promote the importance of breast cancer screening and early detection. When detected in an early, localized stage, the 5-year relative survival rate for breast cancer is over 99%! This kind of early detection is possible through regular screenings, like mammograms.

MBC is Stage 4 breast cancer that has spread to other areas of the body, such as the bones, lungs, liver, or brain. It will be a part of a thriver’s life for the rest of their life.
