Good Morning Everyone:
As Hurricane Isaias approaches, I want to make sure all of our residents have taken the necessary precautions to protect property, secure what can become flying debris and prepare for possibly being without power. Now is the time to charge mobile devices, check batteries in flashlights, etc. Should we lose power, you can track where power outages are and the estimated restore times at:

We still have sand and bags located behind City Hall at the Maintenance Department, but it is going fast. Our plans are to be here until 4pm or until we run out or weather conditions deteriorate where we can't.
The city is prepared. Our teams are stationed and will begin assessing damage as soon as it is safe to do so.
Shelters are open now. They are:
Shelters in Mobile:
Theodore High School 6201 Swedetown Rd
Baker High School. 8901 Airport Blvd
Shelters in Eight Mile:
Collins-Rhodes Elementary
5110 St. Stephen's Rd.
Shelters in Saraland:
Saraland Safe House
7794 Celeste Rd. Saraland opens at 10:00 am all others open at 8 a.m.
Those asking about garbage pick up. McDuffie is on schedule and will be picking up if your normal day is today.
Stay tuned to local news stations for the latest.
