🚨🌳TREE-MENDOUS TRAFFIC ALERT 🌳🚨

Apparently, one very large tree decided it was done standing around and wanted to make a dramatic exit. Unfortunately, it chose Rt. 625 (New Holland Rd.) as its final resting place.

The tree has completely blocked BOTH lanes of travel, forcing the closure of New Holland Rd. between Freemansville Rd. and Church Rd.

PennDot has been notified, but there is currently NO ETA for when the roadway will reopen.

Please use an alternate route, exercise patience, and remember: Just because your GPS says the road is open doesn’t mean you can drive through a tree.

On Thursday, Sept. 10th, the CTPD, with assistance from surrounding law enforcement partners, we completed a coordinated commercial vehicle enforcement detail on our local highways. Details like these involve the weighing/measuring of commercial vehicles and the completion of DOT Truck Inspections. Truck Inspections are a crucial component to the goal of roadway and traffic safety. Over the course of the 5-hour detail, officers and inspectors from multiple agencies completed over 35 truck inspections that discovered numerous safety violations with hundreds more being contacted. Multiple violations required drivers and vehicles to be placed in an out-of-service condition, due to possessing an imminent hazard to our roadways. We appreciate the cooperation of those we encountered this morning and apologize if you may have got caught in some unexpected traffic delays.
