Chevon understands items hold significant value and that small acts of kindness can provide comfort to families during incredibly difficult times. Berkeley County Coroner Darnell D. Hartwell and Moncks Corner Police Department CSI Jasmine Sullivan had the opportunity to visit Berkeley High School and speak with students in their forensics class about the field of forensic investigation.

We enjoyed sharing insights into our work, discussing the role of the Coroner’s Office, and giving students a glimpse into the important work that takes place behind the scenes when investigating a death.

We appreciate the opportunity to connect with these students, encourage their curiosity, and help inspire the next generation of professionals interested in forensic science and public service!

🚂 𝙊𝙪𝙧 𝙤𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙖 𝘾𝙎𝙓 𝙍𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙧𝙤𝙖𝙙 𝙁𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙄𝙣𝙫𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙜𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙖𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙇𝙤𝙬𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙮 𝙩𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙮. 🚆

The training included both classroom instruction and hands-on learning at the 𝘾𝙎𝙓 𝘽𝙚𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙩𝙩 𝙔𝙖𝙧𝙙 providing participants with valuable insight into the unique challenges involved in investigating railroad fatalities.

We appreciate CSX and all of the agencies who participated and continue to work together to strengthen our investigative knowledge, preparedness, and partnerships across the Lowcountry. 🤝

We enjoyed participating in 𝐓𝐖𝐎 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐎𝐮𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 - Hanahan Police Department’s and Moncks Corner Police Department’s - last night! 💙

It was a great evening connecting with our community, meeting families, and supporting the partnerships that help make Berkeley County a safer and stronger place to live.

Today, members of the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office had the honor of attending the Silent Witness Ceremony at the South Carolina State House in Columbia, remembering and honoring the lives lost to domestic violence.

The Silent Witness ceremony serves as a powerful reminder that behind every statistic is a life, a family, and a story that deserves to be remembered. We stand with survivors, families, advocates, and communities across South Carolina in raising awareness and working toward a future free from domestic violence.
