Some of you may or may not know that when I’m not wrangling animals around here, I also host a TV show, The American Dream.

For this episode, I figured there was no better place to start than right here at Toepper Trail Farm! We showed off a little farm life, headed into downtown Peotone, and finished up at Game On Bar & Grill.

Pretty cool getting to put our little farm and our community in the spotlight!

Hendrix asked that I post his two new rescues this morning!

This is "Slow" and "Fast". He says he rescued them from being eaten by the chickens, owls, and even coyotes.

They have been released into a safer tree.

Thank you to the amazing staff at U of I for the excellent care you gave our girl.

A lot of changes being made at home to suit a new lifestyle for Velvet but that's ok, she's worth it ❤️

She says thank you to all of her Facebook aunties for her prayers and well wishes!

Edit to add: Velvet will no longer have hay of any kind, and pretty much no treats at all, only her mash. She LOVES Himalayan salt licks, so if anyone has any they don't use please send them my way. Also any sort of hanging treats etc to keep her from boredom.

Velvet update:

Just spoke to Dr Butler. Velvet is hanging in there. She got to eat some really watery mash which she was happy to do, and did well with it. They are going to give her more mash today with less water in it to see how she does.
They are going to run more labs today to see where her levels are compared to a couple days ago, and possibly another ultrasound.

Baby steps but at least we aren't going backwards.

Update on Velvet:

She's about the same today. Vitals are pretty much what they expected them to be right now.
She's a little brighter today, lungs sound a little better today.
Esophagus is really beat up where the bolus was, but the rest of the esophagus looks pretty good.
They are going to try to get her to eat some soupy mash today to see how she tolerates it.

We're good here, just really missing her. Norman is looking for her today.
