United CUSD 304 Families,

All United CUSD 304 schools will be closed on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, for Election Day. Classes will be in session on Monday, November 2, and will resume on Wednesday, November 4.

Why are some school districts in session on Election Day while others are closed?

In Illinois, Senate Bill 3511 (SB 3511) was introduced to make General Election Day in even-numbered years a mandatory school holiday statewide. However, the bill did not pass. Because guidance regarding the bill's non-passage was not distributed to school districts until after June 1st, United CUSD 304 chose not to amend its already established 2026–2027 school calendar.

Thank you and have a safe weeked.
