Beginning July 27th and running through August 19, the Bailey Flat Bridge on Cobbossee Rd. will undergo replacement.
During that time, through traffic will be closed and a detour will be available.

Last evening, Monmouth Firefighters conducted training on water rescues and boat operations on Cochnewagan Lake. It was a beautiful night to get a little wet.

Air management training with a fun twist!

After an afternoon of responding to storm-related calls, you would think Monmouth Firefighters would have been tuckered out and want the night off from our regularly scheduled training.

Instead, the firefighters spent the evening conducting air management training, but with a fun twist. They played basketball while expending all the air in their SCBA bottles. This way, they know how long it takes for the low air alarm to sound and what it feels like if they run out of air.

Great job today with responding to almost a dozen calls and then showing dedication to show up for training, too.

The Monmouth Fire Department had a nice visit from a local Girl Scouts Troop, yesterday. In addition to touring the station and trucks, a fire safety presentation was given. Afterwards, the Girl Scouts made first aid kits.
