At just under 10 acres, with nearly 1,500 feet of Lake Monona shoreline, San Damiano is epic and iconic.

The nonprofit Friends of San Damiano was organized with a mission to help transform this unique 10-acre lakeside public space — for recreation, education, and peaceful reflection. Friends of San Damiano is a 501(c)3 with a mission to advance the San Damiano property as a place for public recreation, interpretive programming, and peaceful reflection. This property offers breathtaking views of the Wisconsin State Capitol and a peaceful, natural expanse unlike any other in the area. San Damiano is viewed as a regional asset for Dane County and beyond, and visitors will have the opportunity to utilize and cherish this space for generations to come. The leaves are poppin', the garden is putting itself to bed (pun intended?), and cooler temps are setting in at San Damiano. If you haven't visited lately, fall splendor, one-of-a-kind views, and crisp autumn weather await! Grab your friends and make a plan; your San Damiano adventure is (literally) right around the corner.

And remember - dogs are always allowed on-leash on the grounds of the park!

Revisiting September 13th's Celebration on the Shore 2026: The Golden Hour Gala with the latest batch of stunning photos reminds us not only of the wonderful, lively evening we shared with our generous guests (we exceeded our fundraising goal and raised more than $145,000 for park stewardship!), but of the gratitude we hold for our incredible sponsors (and in particular, our Presenting Sponsor for the third year running, Ho-Chunk Gaming Madison).

The future of San Damiano is bright, thanks another year of incredible, sustaining support of our community. Thank you!

It's today! The Family, Friends & Fans Fest 2026 kicks off at 2 p.m. at San Damiano.

We can't wait to ring in fall with lively music, family-friendly fun, and community celebration. Come one, come all!

Wondering what to do this weekend? Join the party at San Damiano, where we'll be hosting the Family, Friends & Fans Fest 2026 with local musicians VO5, Rachelle and The Red Hot Rattlers, and other special guests tomorrow from 2-6 p.m.!

This lively celebration will have something for everyone, so grab a blanket or chair, wend your way to 4123 Monona Drive (we recommend hoofing it, biking, or taking Madison Metro), and ring in fall with tunes and togetherness.

Need to use 4-wheeled transportation? Vehicles can park in the Monona Grove High School lot and ride the shuttle until 7 p.m. (vehicles must be cleared out of Monona Grove High School lot by 7).

If you stop by this week, this update will be hard to miss... We're getting the edges of our driveway repaired!

Thanks to the crew at SSL Landscaping, we'll have those edges looking tight and lined with compressed gravel by the end of the week.

This just in! Family, Friends & Fans Fest 2026 is this coming Saturday, October 17 from 2-6 p.m. at San Damiano!

We'll welcome local musical groups VO5, Rachelle and The Red Hot Rattlers, and other special guests for a joyful autumnal celebration fit for the whole family! This event will be held rain or shine.

The Friends of San Damiano will be offering b**r and non-alcoholic beverages, with food cart offerings from Mi Casa Es Tu Casa 1, The Original Steaks and Hoagies - Madison, Mom's Touch (Naan Stop Fusion's sister restaurant, featuring the same menu!) and Pota Madre.

We're gonna party like it's 1966! We can't wait to see you on Saturday!
