On Wednesday, residents played a Halloween-themed game guessing the contents of a bag. Items included cooked noodles, peeled grapes, crushed potato chips, and more. For every correct guess, they earned $1 in auction bucks! 🎃👻

As we continue through the fall season, many Walks to End Alzheimer's have already taken place or are currently in full swing. To help encourage people to join these walks and raise awareness, we found an insightful article that includes 10 Steps to Approach Memory Concerns in Others. This is valuable tool for a loved one to use when the time comes. The first five steps include:

1. What changes in memory, thinking or behavior do you see?
2. What else is going on?
3. Learn about the signs of Alzheimer's and other dementias and the benefits of an early diagnosis.
4. Has anyone else noticed the changes?
5. Who should have the conversation to discuss concerns?

We’re hosting a winter coat drive! Help keep our neighbors warm this season by donating new or gently used coats to our Salvation Army Winter Coat Drive in our community. Each donation earns an entry in a raffle taking place on December 1. Donations will be accepted through November 30. Help us make sure everyone stays warm this year! 🧥

At a recent happy hour, a few of our residents volunteered to try a playful new game. Shirley, Donna, and Ronnie donned cardboard masks and took turns placing where they thought each facial feature should go. It was a fun, unique activity we think many residents will soon love! 💛

This week our Life Enrichment Director, Joan, took several residents to Pike's Peak State Park. They also stopped at Shihata’s Apple Orchard for some fall shopping—it was a wonderful outing for everyone. 🍂
