The hive is alive this school year thanks to a little help from Monroe’s newest student club, The Blue Crew! πŸ’™πŸ“£

The Blue Crew is committed to supporting all high school extracurricular groups and bringing students, staff and the community together as one. Their mission is simple: build connections, boost school spirit, and remind everyone what it means to be a Hornet!

After introducing themselves at the July school board meeting, club leaders immediately got to work by hosting Senior Sunrise and recruiting new members to increase their impact at Monroe. If our hallways look brighter and our Hornet spirit feels stronger, The Blue Crew might just be what the buzz is all about! πŸ’ͺ🐝

Yankee Road Closure: Oct. 19 - Nov. 20, 2026

Monroe families, students and staff,

Please be aware that beginning Monday, Oct. 19, Yankee Road will be closed to all through traffic north of Hornet Drive for 33 days. The road is currently expected to reopen on Nov. 20, 2026, weather permitting.

Hornet Drive will only be accessible from S.R. 63 and all through traffic will be required to turn left when exiting Monroe’s main campus. Please be patient and allow extra time when traveling to and from main campus, as there will be a significant increase in vehicle traffic due to the detour.

There are no planned changes to bus routes or drop-off/pick-up procedures for students grades 2-12. Students are encouraged to ride the bus if they are signed up to avoid additional traffic congestion along Hornet Drive and Yankee Road.

During this closure, Yankee Road will be widened, a southbound left-turn lane and northbound right-turn lane will be added, and related infrastructure will be modified to accommodate future connection to a planned second drive on Monroe’s main campus.

Please note that this project is related to but separate from the construction of the new second drive, which is scheduled to open later this school year.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we take this exciting step toward improving access to our main campus. πŸπŸš—
