FUN FACT FRIDAY: The Mighty Acorn!

Did you know that a single oak tree can produce thousands of acorns in a good year? These little treasures are more than just fall decorations! Acorns have been an important food source for wildlife for centuries, providing nourishment for squirrels, deer, wild turkeys, and many other woodland creatures.

Imagine the acorns that may have fallen beneath the trees around the William Harris Homestead over the years! What stories those old oaks could tell.

Come explore history with us! The William Harris Homestead Museum & Education Center will be OPEN TO THE PUBLIC Saturday, November 7, from 10 AM–2 PM!

We hate to do it, but with 99% of vendors in agreement we have decided to cancel our third day of the market. Water and antiques do not mix well. We want to thank all our amazing shoppers for 2 wonderful days and thank you Jesus for keeping us dry. Thank you to William Harris Homestead Foundation for an amazing venue and all their hard workers!!! Mark your calendars for the 1st weekend in May when we will have another amazing Market full of antique, vintage, and artisan finds!!

After reviewing yesterday’s weather predictions, the event organizer and vendors made the difficult decision to close early rather than take the risk. While we’re disappointed not to welcome you today, the safety of our vendors, visitors, and the historic Homestead will always come first.

Unfortunately, Mother Nature has other plans! The Vintage Markets of Monroe’s Fall Market, hosted by the William Harris Homestead Museum & Education Center, will be CLOSED on Sunday, October 4th, due to inclement weather.

As much as we love a good vintage find, nobody likes soggy antiques!

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we put the safety of our vendors, visitors, and the historic Homestead first.

But don’t worry — we’ll be back in the spring! Join us for the next Vintage Markets of Monroe the first weekend in May, when we’ll be ready to welcome you back for another wonderful market!
