SAFE MEDICATION DISPOSAL STARTS WITH YOU

The Union County Sheriff’s Office encourages residents to participate in the DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, October 24.

Unused or expired prescription medications can pose serious risks when left unsecured in our homes. They can be accidentally taken by children, misused by others, or contribute to prescription drug abuse. Proper disposal helps protect our families, prevent medication misuse, and keep our community safe.

Residents can utilize any of the following locations for medication drop-off:

• Waxhaw Police Department
3620 Providence Road South, Waxhaw, NC 28173

• Wesley Chapel Fire Department
315 Waxhaw-Indian Trail Road, Waxhaw, NC 28173

• Indian Trail Sheriff’s Office
130 Blythe Dr. Indian Trail, NC 28079

• Monroe Police Department
450 West Crowell Street, Monroe, NC 28112

• Union County Sheriff’s Office
3370 Presson Road, Monroe, NC 28112

Take a few minutes to clean out your medicine cabinet and dispose of unwanted medications safely. A simple step at home can help prevent prescription drug misuse and make a difference in protecting our community.
