Have you returned your ballot yet? The Nov 3 election is just over a week away!

Of the more than 27,000 registered voters in our community, only about 15% have returned their ballots so far, including just 10% of our families. That means thousands of ballots are still out there.

Time is running out to return your ballot by mail. Consider using one of our community's secure ballot drop boxes instead to make sure it's received on time:

📍 Salem Woods Elementary – NEW!
📍 Maltby Elementary – NEW!
📍 Monroe Library

All three locations are open 24 hours a day until 8 p.m. on Election Day, Nov 3.

Already voted? Make sure your ballot has been accepted by checking its status at www.VoteWA.gov.

Want to learn more about Prop 1, MSD's Capital Projects Levy? Find project details & FAQs at: www.monroe.wednet.edu/CapitalLevy2026.

Your vote matters, so make sure your ballot is returned on time and accepted!

As we wrap up Fire Prevention Month, we want to give a big shoutout to our local public service partners for helping our students learn important fire safety lessons! 🚒

A special congratulations to Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue's Public Information & Education Officer, Kaitlin King, who was recently named Fire Educator of the Year!

This award recognizes professionals in Fire and Life Safety Education whose dedication to risk reduction and community education makes a meaningful and lasting impact.

In these photos, Kaitlin is helping our third graders learn the importance of having a fire escape plan at home and at school, along with getting to know the "nose" in their homes. You know, the smoke detector! It's an important reminder that being prepared and knowing what to do in an emergency can make all the difference.

Congratulations, Kaitlin, on this well-deserved honor! Thank you for all you do for our school community and for helping keep our students and families safe and prepared!

Make Sure Your Ballot is Counted in Time!

📬If returning your ballot by mail, mail it more than one week before the November 3 Election Day to help ensure it is postmarked on time.

🗳️Official ballot drop boxes are the most reliable option, especially during the final week, and are open until 8 p.m. on November 3. Ballot drop boxes are located at Maltby Elementary, Salem Woods Elementary, and the Monroe Library.

Visit VoteWA.gov to track your ballot and sign up for text alerts, including notifications about signature issues and how to resolve them.

📬 Keep an eye on your mailbox!

Ballots for the November 3 election should be arriving in mailboxes, along with information we recently mailed to Monroe School District community members about the Capital Projects Levy on the ballot.

The mailer includes information about the proposed projects across the district, how the four-year levy would work, and the estimated impact on local property taxes.

📄 Missed the mailer or want to view it online? https://trst.in/o6HaI5

🗳️ Ballots for the November 3 General Election are on their way!

Ballots were mailed yesterday, so keep an eye on your mailbox and make a plan to vote early!

📬 Voting by mail? Due to reported mail delays, we recommend mailing your completed ballot at least 7–10 days before Election Day to help ensure it is postmarked on time.

📍 Prefer a ballot drop box? There are now THREE ballot drop boxes within Monroe School District boundaries:
➡️Monroe Library on Village Way
➡️Salem Woods Elementary
➡️Maltby Elementary

Reminder: The ballot drop boxes at Salem Woods and Maltby are located inside the school parking lots, not along the road.

Did you know? All registered voters who live within Monroe School District boundaries can vote on the district's Capital Projects Levy, not just those who live within Monroe city limits!

Need to register to vote or update your registration? Visit the Snohomish County Elections website.
