On this day, we pause in quiet reflection. It’s a day to hold the memory of NYPD Detective Brian C. Mulkeen close to our hearts. He was one of our own, a Monroe native who served with dedication and sacrifice. While the years pass, the light of his courage and his unwavering spirit does not fade.

We are forever grateful for his service. 💙 End of Watch 09/29/2019

This week is Child Passenger Safety Week! 👶🚗
📅 September 20–26, 2026

This week is a great reminder that keeping our little ones safe starts with making sure they are properly secured every time they ride in a vehicle. ❤️

✔️ Make sure your child is in the right car seat for their age, size, and developmental stage
✔️ Keep children rear-facing as long as possible according to their car seat’s limits
✔️ Make sure the harness is snug and positioned correctly
✔️ If you’re unsure whether your car seat is installed correctly, have it checked by a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician

A few extra minutes to check your car seat could make a life-saving difference. 💙

Drive safe. Buckle up. Every trip. Every time. 🚙✨

09/11/2026

Please join us tonight as we come together to honor and remember the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. We remember the lives lost, the heroes who answered the call, and the families and communities forever changed by that day.
Never Forget 🇺🇸

On August 12, 2026, the Monroe Police Department hosted a successful Car Seat Check Event at Sacred Heart Church, where our certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians checked 35 car seats and provided families with important guidance on proper installation and child passenger safety. Keeping our youngest passengers safe is a community-wide effort, and we’re proud to continue working with our local partners to help families make sure their children are properly secured every time they travel.

A special thank you to Kecia from the Orange County Traffic Safety Program for her partnership and assistance in making this event a success!

We’d also like to thank all of the agencies and organizations who participated and helped support this important community event:

👮 Greenwood Lake Police Department
🤝 Kiwanis Club of Newburgh
👮 Town of Chester Police Department
🚔 New York State Police
🏥 Garnet Medical Center
🚒 Long Ridge Fire Company – Stamford, CT
