Monson Fire Department Association

Yesterday members of the Association attended the Antique Firetruck Show & Firematic Swap Meet hosted by the Massachusetts Antique Fire Apparatus Association. The 1934 Seagrave Tiller and 1815s Old Hand Tub were in attendance and the Seagrave was lucky enough to walk away with an award for the first time in many years! There was a great variation of antiques and history in attendance. You can never have enough appreciation for the history of these pieces and the people who operated them.

Thank you to the Association for the invitation! We look forward to future events.

On her first outing in a long time the Seagrave won photographers choice today at the 2026 Antique Fire Truck Show hosted by the Massachusetts Antique Fire Apparatus Association. More photos to come, but we are so excited to have these trucks up and running and out in the world again!

A big thank you to C.R. Levesque Trucking for trailering the truck to Marlboro today, we would not have been able to get there without your help!

The Seagrave is going on a little trip….think you’ll see this beauty in your weekend travels?

Hard work continues! Yesterday the members continued with day 2 of renovating the Monson Bellmen. This consisted of filling holes, sanding, prepping and applying two coats of paint to the walls in the solo bay.

The first two photos are a before and after. You can see the difference in how much a couple coats of paint can truly brighten the place up.

Again, a huge thank you to John's Paint Store for the supplies. We couldn’t have done it without their generous support and donation.

Stay tuned for more to come!

Today members of the association came together to start the long needed face lift for The Monson Bellmen Museum. The goals of the museum is to remove all items from the walls, give the building a good cleaning, patch/ repair any holes and apply a fresh coat of paint, so we can then redisplay the historical items. We plan to have open houses in the near future to allow the citizens and public to come view and learn about the history of the Monson Fire Department as well as firefighting in general.

Huge thank you to John's Paint Store for the donation of paint and supplies! Please go check them out and give them your support for your home needs.

STAY TUNED for more updates as the renovations continue! 🙌🏼 🔨

We often have a difficult time finding some street numbers because they are poorly marked or not at all. At the time of an emergency is not the time to search for house numbers. For only 20 dollars you can obtain a high visibility red reflective street number sign installed by the fire department (Monson residents only). Call Celeste at 267-3132 for more information.
