Dear Monte Vista High School Parents and Community,
I want to take a moment to address our early release for Homecoming and float decorating. Students were provided breakfast as we do every morning. We released our students at 10:30 for float decorating and hallway cleanup. Being an open campus it was uncertain how many students would return for lunch. I did make a lapse in judgement. Our amazing food service staff did prepare lunch for any student that remained on campus.
As the principal, I recognize that I did not communicate this information clearly and in advance to our parents and students. I take responsibility for that oversight and apologize for any confusion or concern it may have caused.
Our students’ well-being is always a priority, and ensuring they have access to meals, even when our schedule changes for special events, is an important part of that responsibility. I appreciate the efforts of our staff to support our students and help make Homecoming a positive experience for everyone.
Moving forward, I will be more intentional about communicating schedule changes and important details with families so everyone has the information they need.
Thank you for your continued support of Monte Vista High School and our Pirates. I appreciate the partnership we share in taking care of our students and making our school community a great place to be.
Sincerely,
Chris Vance
Principal
