đźš‘ A NEW MED1 VEHICLE WENT IN SERVICE YESTERDAY! đźš‘
🚨🚨During its first 11 hours Med1 responded to EIGHT calls including a structure fire, vehicle collision, and several other critical calls. 🚨🚨
We are excited to announce that a 2027 Dodge Durango is replacing our 2017 Ford explorer in the role of Med1!
Even more exciting: 100% of the funding used to upgrade Med1 came through a grant that was awarded to our EMS agency. No taxpayer dollars were used to fund the upgrade!!
Med1 carries most of the essential equipment and supplies found on an ambulance, allowing it to serve as a versatile EMS resource throughout the county.
So, what is Med 1 used for?
👨‍⚕️ Paramedic Shift Supervisor Vehicle
An EMS Lieutenant uses Med1 to move throughout the county and provide an immediate advanced EMS resources and leadership wherever they are needed.
⚕️ Advanced Procedures
It provides a way for an additional Paramedic to get to a scene that may need advanced procedures that require two paramedics.
🚨 Complex Scene Management
Gives our Lieutenants the equipment and resources needed to help manage complex or large-scale incidents.
📦 Supply Delivery
Allows us to quickly move critical EMS supplies and equipment between stations, ambulances, and scenes.
⏱️ Rapid Scene Response
If an ambulance is already committed to another call, Med1 can respond quickly to a new emergency and begin providing care before another ambulance arrives.
🧰 Backup Life-Saving Equipment
Med1 provides an additional cache of critical equipment and supplies that can be brought directly to a scene when needed.
🏥 County-Based EMS Resource
Med1 is an EMS resource that does not leave the county for patient transport, allowing it to remain available to support our local EMS system.
đź’ˇ Highway & Scene Safety
Med1 provides additional emergency lighting, increased visibility, and a physical barrier between emergency responders and passing traffic when operating on high-speed roadways or remote rural scenes.
Med1 is another tool that allows our EMS team to bring more resources, more equipment, and more advanced care to the people we serve.
We are incredibly grateful for the grant funding that made this upgrade possible and for the continued support of our community.
Med1 is officially in service! 🚑🇺🇸
