We're about to see something we've never seen before. The American Military, stipped down, cleaned up, and focused on pure lethality. Trump could do himself a favor and talk less about it, but that is what it is. All of this is Pete Hegseth's doing, he's a phenominal Secretary of War.

Win, lose, or draw in this next midterm elections, Iran is about to feel the full force and weight of pi**ed off Americans. I wish it weren't so, but Iran just sent an open letter to America asking us NOT to support Donald Trump and to support the Democratic agenda in the Midterms. Can't even make that s**t up. Imagine if the J**s or Nazi's said, "Vote Democrat!" The idea itself is pretty preposterous. But hey, that's where we are today, 1/5th of the Democratic Party are open Socialist's and Communist's.

But back to the blood and guts! In my lifetime I have never seen our military so focused (on lethality). And to speak plainly, I'm really happy that Hegseth has taken all the gay and complaining s**t right on out the front door. Seriousy, I admire the job he's done, we needed HIM quite badly. This is the most focused our military has been since WWII, and it makes me wish I didn't bail after 20 during the Biden Administration.

In my humble opinion, Trump has the opportunity to make an example out of Iran. And I hope he does. Midterms be damned. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard is responsible for most of my friends deaths in Iraq and even Afghanistan. Of course it's not really fair, a good comparison would be Mike Tyson fighting a first grader, that's how lopsided it is. Iran depends on Democrat's to hold back America's Haymakers, and that's a fact, albeit a damn sad one.

Things are about to happen. I predict there will be a full-on conflict with Iran involving American ground troops. This is how I'd do it:

1. Send the 1st Marine Division to Yemen to clean out the Houthi's.

2. Send the 2nd Marine Division to Kargh Island and the Southern Coast of Iran to hold ground and further secure the Staight of Hormuz.

3. Send in my old Group, 5th Special Forces Group, from the Northeast with the Talibani Kurds, and likely a scattering of the other two Kurdish Tribes, the Barzani's in Northern Iraq and the Krumunji in Syria. Fight an Unconventional Warfare fight with the Kurds carrying the bulk of the weight in the North and slowly work their way South to link up with the 2nd Marine Division.

4. Send in 3d Special Forces Group to Tehran and the major cities and have them hunt the Iranian Revolutionary Guard personnel and the Basij (the religious police responsible for most of the kidnappings and torture). 3d Group carried most of the wieght in Afghanistan, so have a lot of skin in the game and are wonderfully, wonderfully violent. I've always admired they way they go to guns pretty quick.

5. Make it a fu***ng spectacle. Yemen and the Houthi's are watching. Russia is watching, China is watching, North Korea is watching. If we do this right, we will secure world peace for the next ten years.

In closing I'll just say, I'm mad at the Iranian people. They have been so freakin' whimpy that they let their hate out of the bag and go crazy. It's kind of a funny thing, if there was one thing I learned during all my time fighting overseas, it's this; Bo**ers are survivors. They play the long game, and primarily think of their own well being first, then their Tribe's well being. Altruism is fu***ng absent in the Middle East. National pride is also severely lacking compared to Tribal loyalties.

Iran is going down, and that'll leave just the three left, Russia, China, and North Korea. The secondary and tertiary effects of this will be the rise of a Kurdish Nation in the Middle East, and that will bring a whole nother box of worms. But if I had my druther's I'd like to see a Kurdish Nation. It would provide long term stability for the Middle East. Time to put the mad dogs down with overwhelming force and violence. How I wish I could fight that fight!!!

I'm glad to be alive and to see the future of our wold unfolding.

The last U.S. troops just left Iraq today. They were up North in the city of Erbil. I did three tours in Iraq and staged there in Erbil for all four of my tours to Syria. I put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into that damn country. Today Iraq is a stool pigeon of Iran. The U.S. did that you know, we targeted Sunni's specifically for years and years under the banners of Al-Qaeda and ISIS, and we gave the Shia there power. They used that power to support Iran. It was a mess, and it still is a mess.

We made the same mistakes we made in Vietnam in Iraq. In Vietnam we let the enemy use Laos and Cambodia to run supply's and troops. In Iraq and Afghanistan we let our enemy's use Iran as a safe haven and a supplier of effective weapons against U.S. servicemen and women.

Seems hard to believe now, these many years later, but we DID bring order to chaos, we DID whip Al-Qaeda and ISIS. We fought in the midst of a corrupt and tribal culture that didn't see any altruistic ways forward. Bo**er culture's survive first and foremost. Secondly, they try to get Americans to take out their enemies, it's like a damn national pastime with them! And they're good at it!

We lost twice as many people in Iraq as we did in Afghanistan, and yes, some of those were my great friends. Seems a quiet way to leave the country with no fanfare, about all I'm happy about is that we didn't bury our dead over there in those dirty, trash filled cities and that hot desert.

I want MORE recognition for my friends who were killed there. I want that recognition from the damn Iraqi Government too. Or at the very least a thank you. How did we lose 7,000 U.S. Servicemen and women in Iraq and then just leave? Our elected officials, that's how. Those freakin' jerk-offs never even declared war, they just gave us an authorization for the use of force, how stupid. I remember Obama's first withdrawal from Iraq also, not as bad a Afghanistan, but not great either.

Only one thing left to say, I guess. To all my Hommies who tasted that desert sand I'll just say, we know what we did, we know who we helped, and we KNOW that our enemies respected and even feared us. That's what I lean on when I ask myself if it was worth the cost of all them buddies that got killed over there. It's a Hell of a thing to think a whole generation fought there in that s**thole and when the last Americans leave, for the second time,... well, about all I can say is Saddam isn't there any more and that's an improvement.

They should have let us go into Iran, we wouldn't have the headaches and high gas prices we have today, if we'd have tuned them up during the Wars on Terror. I won't forget you fellas, thank you for your sacrifice, in our hearts, the hearts of warriors, we know what you did and what you fought for. We shook the entire world and although our politicians fu**ed up everything we gained over there, ours is the honor of knowing we fought for Justice in the face Hate. God Bless every soldier who ever did a tour in Iraq, sure wish we could see some better results over there for all the loss of human life and treasure. Miss you fellas, and I won't let you be forgotten.

Sure is a lotta hub-bub about the midterms coming up. I read from the BBC, CNN, and MSNBC, just to get an idea of what the crazies are thinking and how they are going to come at us. Think it's worthwhile to review a few things.

1. DOGE. The richest (and smartest) man in the world did a complete U.S. Government audit FOR FREE! The things they found were so fundamentally shocking, and I'm not sorry to say, a lot of the corruption from U.S. Aid was going straight into the Democrat's War Chest. I figure 1/3rd to half of our National Debt is because of Government overspending and naked corruption. Trump and Elon shined the light on that.

2. Geopolitics, Trump knocked off Venezuela and turned them into an Energy Ally when we snatched Maduro. That's pretty big, and a genius move if their ever was one. It lets the U.S. control half of the world oil supply now. Yes, I realize gas is expensive still because of the War with Iran and the shipping problems in the Straight of Hormuz. When that sorts itself out, we'll be in a much better place, along with the whole world.

3. The 2020 election. It was stolen through the prolific use of mail-in ballots, under the guise of COVID. Georgia has officially apologized to Trump for screwing him over in 2020. This also brings into question, two Senators legitamacy, Warnock and Ossoff. It's also pretty clear now that the January 6th Commission was up to no good, and basically put in there to cover up the stolen election.

4. China is trying to catch up with the U.S. in AI because their economy is struggling. But Xi and the Chinese are very happy to play the long game. Russia is lessoned because of their War with Ukraine and has become a shadow of its' former self. This leaves the U.S. as the world's only true Super-Power, with the only outlyers being North Korea and Iran. You could probably include Cuba in there too. Point being, these last two years have been amazing on the world stage. And no matter how you want to spin it (BBC, CNN, MSNBC) the U.S., Freedom, and Democracy are on the rise. Trump is kryptonite to Globalists, thank God.

5. Immigration and ICE. It's all working like it's supposed to. The only thing left is to pass the SAVE Act, which requires people to show proof of citizenship when registering to vote in Federal Elections. I think it's worth pointing out, that in State, City, and County Elections illegals have been voting, probably for a long-ass time. I reckon any Senator who doesn't get behind the SAVE Act is a traitor to our country and hoping the U.S. turns back towards the Democratic Party and the New World Order.

6. Greenland, the squeeky wheel got the grease. And Trump secured Greenland militarily FOREVER!

In Summary, I guess my biggest fear is underestimating stupid people (Democrats), and realistically hateful people (the entire Left). People aren't just going to vote. People either love Trump or hate him and his policies. It IS POLARIZED like a mug. I have friends and family that refer to Trump as a crook and pe*****le, AND THEY MEAN IT! The Hate is palpable. This is kind of new, or rather, we're seeing it for what it is for the first time in a long time. Let's not mince words here either, Trump Derangement Syndrome extends to his supporters, of which I am one for sure.

It'll be a crying shame to see Democrat's take back the House and Senate. They're damn thieves and Communist's. But realistically, they stand a pretty good chance to do just that. How does doing good and great things on the world-stage and here at home domestically, translate into that Hate for Trump, and even our own damn country? I'd sure like to see Republican's take the mid-terms and buck the political trend of losing ground politically at the mid-terms.

It's taken every bit of two years, but we finally have our country back. I'd sure hate to see us go backwards again. God Bless America and God Bless Donnie Jay!

25 Years ago today my life changed. I was heading over to my folks house to get some leftover meatloaf and thought I heard something on the radio, but I couldn't really understand it. When I got to my folks place the second plane hit the towers.

Then they started talking about Al-Qaeda and even Osama Bin Laden. My Momma told me after my first tour overseas that she knew I was going in the Army because I said, "Where the f**k is Afghanistan?" What sealed it for me personally was George Bush's first address to the joint session of Congress. He gave me the idea that, as a country, we were going to find all the people responisible for 9/11 and shoot them in the face in their own kitchens. And that sounded pretty good to me.

After three tours to Iraq, four tours to Syria, and one to Lebanon I called it quits. Wan't sure how much more my body was gonna take. Not gonna lie either, there were many, many times I had some serious doubts about whether or not I was going home. Such is the life of a soldier. You get used to putting yourself in harm's way. You put yourself in the path of danger, not unawares mind you, but ready to bring the heat. It does something to you too. It makes everyday more intense. It provides one with supreme purpose, a purpose born of helping people for me.

Man, did I make some good friends along the way. I'm a California Hippie at heart and I made friends with people from all over the country from vastly different backgrounds. We shared the common cause of wanting to right the attacks of 9/11.... and we did. I won every battle I ever fought in, and I outsmarted my enemies at every step. This may surprise you, but if anything, it was tougher navigating the administrative bulls**t of our own Army and the Intelligence Community than it was to find, fix, and finish our enemies. Now, some of you may turn your nose up at the following statement, but I believe with all my heart that killing people is still one of the greatest problem solving techniques there is. And you would too, if you've seen the evil I have.

I'll give you just one example. A dude named Muhammad Thar Thar. He hated women who were educated. Especially women doctors. So, he and his sons would kidnap, r**e, and kill every educated woman they could catch. Here's the thing. After we caught that guy, you could see in his face and his stance, that he was convinced he was doing right by God. I'll never forget that moment. Something clicked, and I thought to myself, these folks are serious.

Fighting counter-insurgency wars is much different than taking ground, like we did in Syria. The establishment of the Caliphate in Syria, in 2015, brought about a call to every re****ed Muslim extremist in the world. It was like a world wide convention of re**rds. And boy were they MEAN! Imagine one day that every re**rd, mean person, and weirdo are put in charge, that was Syria. I learned there that I really enjoyed fighting during the day. Syria was Evil. Every town we took ISIS would hang woman and children from telephone poles to scare us. It didn't scare me, it made me mad, really mad.

Here's some of the things that I have learned. You can't blame Islam, I mean that. The Israeli's have a lot of Muslim troops, you know. And I've fought shoulder to shoulder with many of my Muslim brothers. Does Islam need a reformation, yes. I have four interpreters who are American citizens now. One of them is the greatest American I know, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart. He's pilot, a Captain now, for Delta Airlines, and I'm so proud and happy for him.

Those twenty years I was away fighting. My country went down the s**tter. I can't believe I didn't see it more clearly at the time. But all the corruption I witnessed overseas, was every bit as bad in my own country. Especially after Obama was re-elected in 2012. That bastard brought Chicago-style corruption to the Federal Government. I firmly believe now, that the Wars on Terror, were meant to occupy American loving citizens like myself, while Democrats and Communists here at home attempted to steal our Country. And they DID! With the faulty and corrupt election of Joe Biden. It makes me sick to my stomach now to even think about it. I will never forgive Democrat's or Joe Biden for screwing the pooch so bad withdrawing from Afghanistan.

And the fact that I haven't gotten my pound of flesh yet for the stolen '20 election, really, really pi**es me off. I got some news for you all. We're going to guns against Iran after the mid-terms. Win or lose for the Republicans, Iran is getting a regime change. This will open up a terrible box of worms. Because as we are successfull in Iran, we will certainly USE the last tribe of Kurdish folks that we haven't fought with yet. The Iranian Kurds are called Talibani Kurds. We can take Iran with 800 men from the 5th Special Forces Group. But the secondary effect of this will be the rise of Kurdish nation. A Kurdish nation will be hated by Turkey and that will ultimately lead to Turkey not being a NATO nation, and that will come with a whole nother box of worms.

Our enemies respect our strength you know. But they play the long game very well. Case in point, today, the Iranians are playing the long game, hoping that Democrat's will take the House and Senate back. Yep, that's what I said, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard hopes Democrats win the mid-terms. That's all I need to know. The Ball is still rolling because of 9/11. I, for one, am happy that we have finally fought side by side with Israel. It was stupid of us to shield them from the Wars on Terror. A lot of people don't know this, but Muslim's hate and don't trust Jews, way worse than Democrats too.

I am grateful to have survived my service where a good many of my friends haven't. I'm grateful for my life today, it's a good one. I have a bit of property, a sawmill, and a tractor. I've been retired for four years now and it's been the most peaceful time of my life. With the State of our Country today, I really do wonder if I'll have to pick up a gun again. I think Washington DC is a s**thole, peopled entirely by theiving as****es, and I don't like it!

I'm not all that worried about it all though, because I never, and I mean never, bet against America. January 6th was nothing compared to what's coming. Trump is facing impossible odds and he still just chips away at it, like a champ. 9/11 taught me America is unstoppable when we're pi**ed off. Things got dicey too, believe me, Joe Biden tried to make our Army so GAY, to purposefully get great America loving soldiers to quit. And it worked. Joe Biden damaged our military. I thank God for Pete Hegseth, our Secretary of War, everyday. I think he's doing a bang up job and he's bringing the heart of a warrior back to the forefront.

25 Years. Thank you God for giving me the heart to fight for what I believe in, and the moral clarity to recognize the same corruption I fought overseas, being present here in my own country. God Bless America! And God Bless all my friends who gave their lives for our great country.

I worry about Socialism and Communism affecting America through the Democratic Party. Can't say it any plainer than that. Roughly one/fifth of the Democratic Party "Identifies" as Democratic Socialists. In fact, Democratic Socialism is mentioned FIVE times in Marx's Communist Manifesto as the 'elbow' card to defeat Capitolism, Democracy, and Constitutional Republic's, ie. America.

The willful blindness to it is the most disturbing to me. My Daddy and my Grandpa's, and even myself have fought Communist's on the field of battle, only to come home and find the Democratic Party trying to import them both legally and illegally. It's just wrong!

During my lifetime when Republicans or Democrats get skunked at the poles, the usual reaction is for the losing party is to come to the center politically. I think Donald Trump drives them so crazy, (I'll get to why later), that for the first time in American Political History, when Democrat's got spanked in '16, '20, and '24 (and yes, I believe Trump won in 2020), the went further and further into the absurd Left. Now it's become a full-on rush to Socialism and anything that tears at the fabric of the American Work-Ethic and American Spirituality.

I just turned 58, and now the term 'Godless Communist' makes more and more sense to me. So, why the crazy reaction to Trump specifically? It's a fair question. I believe it's because Trump is a self-made Billionaire several times over, so he intuitively understands Capitolism and business, both of which are antithetical to the Democratic Party. I also believe that Trump creates wealth, like no other President before him. I also don't blame Trump for making money while in office in crypto, or whatever other forum he makes money. This is kind of key, and it's a difference between the Democratic Party and Trump's Republican Party. Trump makes money legally, and makes the money for the whole country in the stock market. Democrat's STEAL their money from the Government, so of course they HATE Trump and Elon for DOGE and exposing all of their corruption.

The mid-terms can't come fast enough for me. I am hopeful that Trump bucks the trend and Republicans gain seats in the House and Senate. There has NEVER been a more distinctive difference between the Republican and Democratic constituency's. And to be fair here, let's just ask what is driving the Democratic Party's push farther and farther to the Left? Is it like JD Vance says, 'childless cat ladies'? Or is it our off-the-rails higher education system (American Universities) that preach all that bulls**t and turn our kids into Communist's? Or was it just opening the border up to drive up home prices and rents, and every other cost.

Just so y'all know, the goal of Communism is to erase the middle-class. Rulers and Serf's. I am hopeful that Trump and Judge Jenine Pirro have done enough work to stop the massive influx of mail-in voting, but there is still so much FINALLY being litigated about the '20 election, and quite sadly, NO ONE HAS BEEN ARRESTED FOR STEALING THE 2020 ELECTION. My faith is still in Trump, but I was hoping to see some arrests made by June of this year. The fact that that hasn't happened is very disappointing to me personally, and leaves me with less faith in our governance and legal system. Especially our legal system.

In my heart all I want to do is fight Communism, some of you may not believe this, but I have been an Independent my whole life, but I am also a proud three-time Trump voter. I'm glad Trump is there in the Whitehouse and doing what he's doing. To me, he's pi***ng off all the right people, but more importantly, he's bringing America back from the brink of Communism and Socialism. And I for one, thank God for him everyday.

Well, it's election day here in the Cove. Thought I'd do a shameless plug and encourage people to vote for Jeff Gritz, and ONLY Jeff Gritz. I started this run for the Board because I figured the ECC was still operating a bit loosely. Specifically, the incident involving Joe Horvath and the current President of the ECC breaking (What I consider) to be the lines between professionalism and neighborliness. I also didn't like the Board firing Brad March, never to return to the ECC, and not telling anyone in the nieghborhood why.

When, and if, elected, I intend to write summary's of every Board meeting, and tell my neighbors which board members voted for what, and if able, even why they voted for something. This will likely ruffle feathers with the obvious drawback being, Board Members are not permitted to address their constituents on Social Media. Here's how I see that. El-Gritzo here did 8 combat tours in Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon, I won the Combat Infantryman's Badge, and also have four bronze stars for meritorious service (NOT valorious). My right to Free-Speech is God-given, but I earned my right to speak my mind many times over by my service to our country during times of war.

Here are some of the things I'm looking to do and change on our Board.

1. The ECC guidebook should be written from the perspective that polices up the ECC (Environmental Control Committee). We LIVE here! We all saved to reach this point in our lives and worked hard to get here. I don't want unelected people having input in property improvements.

2. Change the stupid rule about Board Member's not using Social Media, it's 2026, and Social Media is the best way to reach ALL of our constituents.

3. I want the ECC and the Board to do a better job of making it easier for people to build their dream homes and make improvements. It's not bad right now, but I'm guessing a good 50% of our neighborhood gives two s**ts about the ECC. If your house is back off the road and nobody can even see it, well.... So, to me, that begs the question, how do we get the whole neighborhood involved? Well, you can start by being open and honest, and you can end by developing a self-governance system that ENCOURAGES people to make property improvements, which should have the affect of making all of our properties become more valuable. I myself, detest the idea of having ECC personnel on my property. The idea of ONE person having any say on my property improvements is bad enough, now open it up to a committee of unelected people to go through my property improvements is just untenable to me.

4. Make the ECC President an elected position.

5. I am open to big ideas. I think our group owned properties could be used differently. I'd like to see a Frisbee Golf Course and a Dog Park. I am also open to having a few commercial lots in the Cove for a resturaunt, a brewery, and a coffee shop. Think somewhere inbetween where we are now and where Fairfield Glades is now, without the ridiculous prices and HOA fee's.

6. I want Eagle Flight opened up. I would like to use the side by side to drive my 81 year old mother as close to bluffs as I can. Yes, that means a bit more handicap accessible.

7. I'd like Picnic Table Rock cleaned up too. I want that one in particular to look like a well groomed park. Right now it's a fire hazard.

Lastly, I'd just like to say we are in strange times here in America. I believe our good governance starts right here at home in our POA. And frankly, I'm tired of Democrat's not telling people their Democrats, and I'm tired of the 'Never Trumpers' too. Our local elections mirror our National Discourse, and Democrat's and Never Trumper's aren't honest enough for me.

If elected, I promise not to waste a second of your time or a penny of your money. A vote for Gritz will help take our neighborhood back and make it easier to make home improvements, which will make all of our home values go up. So, if you want your privacy and property value protected, I'm your guy.

The following is a letter I'm sending to John Resch for a misunderstanding where I thought it was him who laughed at me at the meet and greet a couple of days ago. I watched the zoom video and can find no fault with the man and apologize. The following message may help shed some light on my paranoia and distrust of all things concerning our self-governance. I also apologize for the drama to all.

John,

Sorry for the misunderstanding about thinking it was you who was laughing at me at the meet and greet. It sounded like it was to my left, and I heard what I heard.

Let me back up a little bit and give you some information that you may not have thought about and hopefully shed some light on why I may have overreacted yesterday morning. Brad March and the ECC.

Were you on the Board, and were you the Board President when you fired him, never to return? How come you never made an apology to people like me who he had treated badly? To my way of thinking, you probably decided that was best for the neighborhood (I disagree, honesty is always first for me), but in doing so, you left the neighborhood to think I was a crazy person. (Please this is important) and try to use it as a teaching point. Amplify this feeling of mine by about 300 people who live here, who were also probably strong-armed by Brad March. I understand why you have done what you have done professionally I suppose, but you should have at least side-bared me, but you didn't do that.

The other day at the Meet and Greet I expected it to be a hostile place for me and my supporters. When you kept on referencing 'Keyboard Warriors' and 'Facebook Warriors' I can only assume you were talking about me (I don't think you realize that people who support me like to share their thoughts with one and other on the Believe in the Cove Again page, and it's pretty wonderful). I was also at a loss as to why you kept referring to me as 'THE Jeff', or 'The REAL Jeff'. Scratch the surface of that and it's simply you trying to be big and make me look small. I think the election committee allowing you those not so 'ambiguous' attacks was pretty shocking upon reflection. All which leads me to a place where, in order to establish a working relationship, I must tell you that:

YOU ARE AT THE POINT WITH ME WHERE YOU HAVE TO EARN BACK MY TRUST.

And again, amplify that by about 300 people who'll be voting for me. YOU, and the Board, have to earn about half of the neighborhood's trust back. You didn't do a good job of that at the Meet and Greet or the last three years under your tenure.

Again, sorry for the misunderstanding, I'll be posting this apology to the Believe in the Cove Again page and my Cumberland Cove Politics page where I made my original post yesterday morning.

Sincerely,

Jeff Gritz

Thank you to all the folks who showed up to the Meet and Greet last night to support me. I think it went well, but with the normal kind of hiccups that come with being a dark horse candidate. A few interesting things came of it, and I swear, you should have seen the look on people's faces when I told them I believe the ECC Guidebook should be written from the perspective that puts guard rails on the ECC, NOT the Property Owners.

I think got their attention when I told 'em I represent the people who want to be left alone. It would appear that if you want more of the same, vote for John Resch and Amy Ady, but if you want some meaningful change, vote for me.

I was leaning towards Amy Ady myself, until Joe Horvath told me, she championed the new $375 charge for buying and selling in the Cove.

I felt the highlight of the evening, for myself, came when John Resch admitted that four or five years ago there was a lot of division in our neighborhood and the ECC was run into the ground at that time (I paraphrased). That was the closest anyone on the Board has come to apologizing to me for suffering through Brad March's ECC.

I felt the pettiness was left to a minimum, although I was openly derided by a sitting board member when I told the audience, "I was a good teammate" and received a 'guffaw/snort', from said sitting Board member. Just as an aside, my wife Kate was sitting next to that Board members wife, who expressed her sadness at that particular moment, I believe that fellah will have some explaining to do when he got home last night.

Another funny one to me was the election committee only getting 15 questions for the candidates. To me, that speaks volumes to people's interest in our self-governance. I'd still put it to you that a good half of our neighborhood thinks our governance is ate-up and tune out everything the Board and ECC do.

I'm hard on the ECC. And to their credit, two current sitting ECC members approached me last night with their concerns. One was perplexed that I support our Covenant's and By-laws, but don't support how the ECC does business, TODAY. The other ECC member expressed to me that the ECC might try to do TOO MUCH! It was an interesting conversation. I'm looking forward to writing a mission statement and job description for our ECC volunteers. Basically, I just don't think the ECC should mimic any county functions having to do with building permits.

One of the questions had to do with Board Members using Social Media and addressing their constituents on Social Media. Surprisingly, both John Resch and Amy Ady were 'uncomfortable' with it but thought it was good in the long run. I disagreed, of course. They talk about transparency and 'listening' to the property owners, but don't want to approach them digitally on Social Media? Ok,.... I think it's a way to hide from one's constituency.

This one was interesting because soooooo many comments were aimed at me as a "Facebook Warrior, Keyboard Warrior" and things of that nature (I believe this flew in the face of 'not attacking' anyone, and they were allowed to do it. I mentioned the difference between the Cumberland Cove Bulletin Board and the Believe in the Cove again page and then mentioned David Perez and Terry Carr as 'admins' who are quick to censor people on the Bulletin Board. The subject we were discussing was Board members using Social Media. Using those two names as an example about had the election committee jumping out of their britches! Lol. Apparently, that 'attacking' thing is pretty subjective, sadly.

I feel good about it all and appreciate everyone's support, I will get in there and make a difference for us all. The Age of Gritz is about to begin!
