PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
FALL LEAF PICKUP

Beginning the week of November 16, 2026, and continuing until November 20, 2025, the Montevideo Public Works Department will be cleaning city streets of leaves. Reminder that only streets and avenues with curb will be cleaned.

Residents are reminded that: 1) City Ordinance 7-1-15 permits only the raking of boulevard leaves into the street and not leaves from the entire yard; 2) the fewer cars parked on city streets and avenues from 7:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., the more thorough the job can be done; and, 3) the clean-up crew will clean each street and avenue only once. DO NOT rake leaves into the street after your street has been cleaned.

Tostenson, Inc. will pick up all properly bagged leaves from private property in the city limits on regular garbage pickup days the week of November 10th.

Thank you for your cooperation.

🧩 Join us for Montevideo Mosaic: Many Cultures, One Community! 🧩
Montevideo Public Schools is proud to introduce a Culture Fair dedicated to celebrating the diversity that defines our town and school district. Just as a mosaic brings together many distinct, colorful pieces to form a beautiful picture, our community is strengthened by the unique traditions, languages, and perspectives of every family—including Dakota, Micronesian, German, Scandinavian, Honduran, Mexican, and many others!
We need YOUR input and participation to make the event a success!
🗓 Informational & Planning Meeting Details:
• Date: Tuesday, October 20
• Time: 5:30 PM
• Location: Montevideo Community Center
We’re looking for ideas and involvement across several areas:
✨ Cultural Exhibits & Displays (items like clothing, art, artifacts, photos)
🎶 Live Performances (music, dance, poetry, storytelling)
🎨 Interactive Demonstrations (for example: crafts, lefse making, beading, painting)
🍲 Culinary Traditions & Food Samplings
🖼 Plus, we will create a Collaborative Community Art Project
Who should come to the planning meeting? Families, local businesses, cultural organizations, performers, and community leaders! Whether you’d like to host a booth, share a performance, provide input, or share a family tradition, your involvement will ensure every member of our Montevideo community feels seen, heard, and valued.
Let’s come together to build connections and celebrate our strength in diversity.
See you Tuesday! 🌟
