It's Family Engagement Month, and your next grocery trip could spark a BIG conversation!

October is Family Engagement Month, and the Alabama Reading Initiative is celebrating the power of everyday conversations!

Did you know a simple trip to the grocery store can create opportunities to build your child's vocabulary, encourage thinking, and strengthen connections?

The best part? No extra materials or special activities are needed!

๐ŸŽฅ Watch our family video and discover how everyday moments can become meaningful learning opportunities.

๐Ÿ’› Small moments. BIG conversations. Lasting connections.

A special shoutout to Blount Elementary School for helping bring family engagement to life through the Alabama Reading Initiativeโ€™s Family Engagement Video Project! ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ“

Where has ARI BG3 been lately? ๐Ÿ“š

Last week was a busy and rewarding week of extending literacy support across Alabama!

๐Ÿ“ Escambia County Schools โ€” Rewriting the Narrative
๐Ÿ“ Mobile County Schools โ€” Actionable Assessments and Content Comprehension
๐Ÿ“ Opelika City Schools โ€” Advanced Word Study

Thank you, Alabama, for opening your doors to ARI BG3 as we work together to extend structures and supports for struggling readers beyond grade three and advance adolescent literacy across our state.

It is an honor to partner with and support the teachers who show up every day, doing the important work of helping students grow as readers, thinkers, and writers. Literacy lives beyond the ELA classroom, and together, we are working to ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed across all content areas.

Weโ€™re building momentum, strengthening instruction, and expanding support for evidence based instruction beyond grade three. And weโ€™re just getting started!

Look for more to come in 2027! ๐Ÿ“–
