🚧 Heads up, Montgomery, Oswego & Boulder Hill 🚧

Starting as early as tomorrow (10/21), a portion of Springdale Road just south of Saugatuck Road to Barnaby Road will be closed for water main installation.

Local access will be maintained just south of the Saugatuck Road and Springdale Road intersection.

All through traffic will be detoured using Saugatuck Road, Wembley Road, and Barnaby Road.

Trail Impacts: the Waubonsie Trail will be temporarily detoured via Matena Drive, Charlotte Lane, Wembley Road and Saugatuck Road for pedestrian safety.

This closure is anticipated to last approximately two months, weather permitting. Please plan for extra travel time and use caution when driving through work zones.

ABOUT US: We A.R.E. Boulder Hill- Accountable, Respectful, and Engaged!

Boulder Hill Elementary is the oldest school in SD 308 — and it shows in the best ways. Generations of Boulder Hill Bobcat families have walked these same halls, sat in these same classrooms, and called this building home. That history is part of what makes it special.

But history also means age.

As Boulder Hill looks toward its next chapter, the question is how this community makes sure a building built to hold its story is ready to hold its future, too.

OUR BUILDING PRIORITIES
- Bathroom Renovations
- A larger front office with student waiting area
- Kitchen & Cafeteria Remodeled
- Flooring Replacement
- New Cameras, Fire Alarms, and Safety Upgrades

The facility report found that our HVAC equipment, plumbing, electrical, and door access control needed to be replaced.

Ms. Lopez’s First Grade Dual Language students are getting ready to send off their very first Pen Pal letters to their University friends at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign!

Our students will be exchanging letters in Spanish with U of I students who are members of SHPE (Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers). Through this special experience, our students will learn more about college life, different majors, and exciting career opportunities- especially in the field of engineering!

The Pen Pal Program is designed to:
Elevate and celebrate the Spanish language
Inspire our students to dream about and pursue higher education
Foster meaningful friendships with positive college role models
Help students begin thinking about their future careers

We are also excited to welcome Mrs. Mendez’s 2nd grade class from Wolf’s Crossing and Mrs. Farries’ 3rd grade class from Hunt Club to the Pen Pal Program this year!

Together, we are expanding this wonderful opportunity and creating even more connections between our elementary students and university students.

We can’t wait to see where these letters- and these new friendships- take our students!

Students in Mrs. Garcia's 5th Grade Dual Language class took on a special challenge today with Dr. Podjasek! They were given 40 straws, a roll of tape, scissors and the task to build the strongest bridge they could. The winners were able to hold about 70 pounds! We A.R.E. Boulder Hill!
